Bonnie had her spay day yesterday. This poor girl....anesthesia was not her friend. She was kept on camera when I could not be with her. Noticing some blood in her urine, so I called Doc. Bonnie is on antibiotics and she is feeling much better tonight. I am relatively sure she has a uti so we are staying on top of this.
This evening she was up and wanting outside, so outside we went. Her urinating is already less frequent and I can see she feels better. Gosh it's rough when they struggle.
She will be good as new very soon and never have to make babies.
If you have a moment....she could use a few prayers that her healing continues. Thank you all!! 🙏🥺🩷
PUPDATE ON MISHKA ~ FR ECHO!!!
She is loving life and doing great!! Her Momma loves her sooo much!! She tells us Mishka is a trooper on the leash now!! She had a dental recently and had two loose teeth so they were removed. She is back to normal and living her doggie dreams!!!
UPDATE * I am trying to reach the family who found these babies....hoping they contact me so we can take over their care.
💥💥HELP NEEDED!!!💥💥
Can anyone bottle feed these two darlings? A neighbor heard them crying and they don't have cats!! They just brought them here, but I cannot. I gave them all the supplies needed and direction, but I also told them I would look for someone who has the time to care for them.
I'm guessing they are around 4 weeks, so they'd need fed every 4 hours.
THEY ARE ADORABLE!!!
Let's talk about little Bonnie for a bit. Bonnie was a stray in Norfolk who refused to be caught. Well, that happened anyway thanks to someone she knew!! It made my volunteer gig easier that day lol. 🐾❤️
Bonnie was basically let go in Norfolk when her owner no longer wanted her. We all know how we feel about that, so we will skip the negativity please.
Bonnie is pretty much all Aussie. She was believed to be Border Aussie, but I am skeptical about that. She weighs 38 # now, she has a gorgeous tri-colored coat and a brindle face! She is a beautiful girl, 3 years old.
Bonnie has been in my training program since arrival. Initially she was extremely mouthy, very fearful, would scream bark when nervous, had zero leash manners and was not very dog friendly. She would not go after other dogs, but she didn't want them in her space either.
After just 2 weeks Bonnie is leash trained, kennel trained, house broken, will play with other dogs her size and will meet new people at her own pace. We will not cram everything on her at once and some of these behaviors take time.
Bonnie would also herd smaller dogs and cats, not harming them, but her Aussie brain was born to do a job. I now have her ignoring the ones she wants to herd. She is very smart and will sit and shake when asked.
She likes to fetch, get tummy rubs, catch treats in the air and go exploring. Bonnie will need an active but calm home to reside in. She can get overstimulated but I am also working through that issue.
Her beauty is in her eyes, her heart and her soul. She wants to learn, she wants to feel safe and she wants to be loved like she should. She is going to make someone an amazing furiend in the near future!!
Bonnie IS NOT available for adoption for at least 2 more weeks so she can heal from her spay surgery. Check back for updates!!
EDIT: Bonnie had her second bath and trim late last night and she was amazing!! The first one she was very cautious, but she got all pretty and was the best girl last night!!
2 baths, nail trim, teeth brushed, high velocity dried and brushed/combed out!! Progress!!!
Yesterday was crazy busy here at FRF. We rescued a rural stray dog and got it home the same day!! 💥💪
We adopted 2 kittens out and did 3 other meet & greets.
Somewhere inbetween we took a phone call from a familiar voice....Tami and the Norfolk Country Club...an Itty bitty baby had been running around the Club for a few days. She tried repeatedly to catch the kitten but was unsuccessful. She requested assistance in town, but was turned away. I grabbed my catch pole, a pet carrier, wet kitten food and headed for the Club.
As soon as I pulled up the little one ran down the fence and hid. She was hungry so she was quite vocal which helped us in her capture. We went back and forth a couple times, then she ran into some very thick brush where she felt safe. While Tami taunted her with food and taked to her, I was able to sneak in behind her and grab one leg lol. She was hissing and spitting and swatting but I did not let go!! She was SAFE!!!
This morning she meowed when she heard my voice. I went about chores as usual, rushing a bit as Bonnie is having her vet day today, then I went to see Wee Bitt of a kitten. She hissed but allowed pets and even rolled over for tummy rubs!!! She obviously is still scared, but she's warm, her tummy is full and she's purring. 😻❤️
She will be available for adoption SOON!! Let's get her a home so we can offer more lost babies help!!!
Huge shout out to Tami E. for not giving up on this baby!!! Thank you for the kitten food and toy delivery also!!! 👌❤️😻

🐾❤️ECHO HAS LEFT THE FACILITY!❤️🐾
Our gorgeous and sweet girl has found her forever!!
Thank you to all who applied to give this precious girl an amzing life!! We had so many wonderful applicants for Echo, it was difficult to pick just one.
She is living her best life now!! Her new Momma is an 18 year veteran at an animal hospital so we were very comfortable with allowing Echo to be adopted. She was getting braver every day though she still carries some fear. I can't imagine her life before some great Pierce County Residents found her, and her successful rescue. We are super excited and loving the updates we are sent!!! 🥰🐾
*Echo was dumped in Pierce County on a gravel road. She survived there for weeks that we know of. Her journey was previously posted. *
🐾🥰Have a long and happy life Echo!! WE LOVE YOU!!!❤️🐾
Note ~ Echo his been renamed...Mishka...💗
