Become a member of The Friends Of The Richards Memorial Library to play along in our Downtown Book Scavenger Hunt! To be eligible, patrons must pay their membership dues, complete the scavenger hunt, and return the completed form of locations and book titles by June 12.

The Moby-Dick Marathon is happening this weekend- online and in person at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. It's the 27th anniversary of the annual readathon of America's most Iconic novel, Moby-Dick.

Wingmasters: The World of Owls

Ages 6-14 plus one adult
Learn how owls use their specialized powers of sight, hearing, and flight to survive and thrive in this hour-long program by Wingmasters. A variety of live North American owls provides the focus of this presentation.
**Due to the nature of this program, children must be ages 6+ to attend and registration is required. Space is limited to 32 participants. We ask that you limit to one adult and 3 children ages 6+ per family so we can fit the most patrons.

Did you know that the Richards Memorial Library offers free passes for North Attleboro residents to the Capron Park Zoo? Each pass admits 2 adults and up to 4 children in the household for FREE. You will be required to show your library pass and your ID with a North Attleboro address at the gate. It is time for children to redeem their library summer reading logs at The Richards Memorial Library!
Children ages 3-9 who complete and return their logs will receive a new book, a keychain, and three keychain tags. They will also receive a raffle entry to try to win a Funko Pop, a craft, or an Altitude jump pass. Children ages 10-13 will receive a raffle entry to try to win a Kindle Fire, a Harry Potter Minalima edition book, a Treetop Adventures pass, a pair of Showcase movie tickets, or a Foldscope microscope. Logs must be returned by August 27.
*Children must have already signed up for the library's summer reading program before August in order to participate.
Calling all cosmic chefs! Alec Carvlin will be reading his debut picture book, How to Bake a Universe, at the Richards Memorial Library on August 22nd at 11am! Kids will love decorating their own cosmic sunglasses, hearing the book read aloud by the author, and asking questions about the fun and funky science at the end. So come on down and bring nothing! Just make sure you have enough. Suggested ages 4-8. No registration.
