Home alone house 33 years later!

The iconic movie house from Home Alone, at 671 Lincoln Ave., in suburban Winnetka, is still standing today.

The Ransom Gillis House is a historic home located at 205 Alfred Street (formerly 63 Alfred prior to renumbering) in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, within the Brush Park district. It was designed by Henry T. Brush and George D. Mason and built between 1876 and 1878. The structure, unoccupied since the mid-1960s, was "mothballed" by the City of Detroit in 2005/2006, in hopes of restoration in the future. On November 1, 2015, the completely refurbished home opened its doors to the public after a thorough renovation in a joint project between HGTV, Rehab Addict Nicole Curtis and Detroit-based mortgage lender Quicken Loans. The project resulted in an eight-part special that aired on HGTV. Bottom.

🤔 so according to Redfin survey of 5,000 they focused on the 1,000 people that had bought a home in the last 12months they rank buying a home 🏡 more stressful than dating , potty training, planning a wedding and barely less than a divorce. 🤷🏼‍♀️😂🤣 y’all clearly didn’t use me as a realtor they may have dated me though 😳😂🤣.

My fear is again the missing middle of the market with smaller homes 🏡 and one story dwellings being left out of the equation.

My son and I went and played tourist in our backyard and walked by the river, admire the flowers and of course the old bell tower.

There were hundreds of Giant Lubber grasshoppers hiding just off the paths. That was a surprise we didn’t expect. I didn’t get a picture of them 😂 but for your knowledge they have a toxin and shouldn’t be touched in case you wanted to pick up the 3” grasshopper 😬 we didn’t .

There has been such a push for bigger is better and keeping up with the Joneses that there’s a huge portion of the housing market that has been neglected or almost demolished.  cottage style homes, offer affordable, living empowerment through home ownership, ease of living and accessibility for many people just entering the housing market and those of the older generation who wish to stay in their home as long as possible but don’t need as much.
