Roundtable Discussion: The Carnation Revolution: Community Voices. So grateful to our 4 panelists who agreed to share their memories of 25 de Abril as it was experienced here in our community.
Panel 7: The Carnation Revolution: Global Ideological Impact. The panelists presented an analysis of the impact of the Portuguese pre and post Revolution in Goa and Indonesia as well as a reflective talk on 25 de Abril from a then young Portuguese activist.
Day 3 of The Carnival Revolution: Global Perspectives Conference has begun at the Charlton College of Business on the UMASD campus.
Panel 6: Black Carnation II: Africa’s Role in the Revolution. We are ending Day 2 of the conference with a series of erudite presentations examining the military, political and cultural African influences on the Revolution.
Panel 5: The Carnation Revolution: Women & Gender. Outstanding panel questioning post-revolutionary “freedom” for women and the LGBT community.
Honored to host the first USA screening of the film, “O Que Podem as Palavras”. Both collaborators Luísa Marinho and Luísa Sequeira were present to introduce the film and answer any audience questions.
