Join us on Wednesday, April 7th at 5pm via Zoom for our National Poetry Month Reading featuring poet Melissa Lozada-Oliva! Melissa will read selections of her original poetry and will also answer your questions during our Q&A portion at the end of the event.

Melissa Lozada-Oliva is a nationally-recognized poet and educator living in Queens. Her poetry–as the 2015 National Poetry Slam Champion and author of Peluda (Button Poetry)–explores, interrogates, and redefines the intersections of Latina identity, feminism, misogyny, nihilistic humor, and what it means to belong. Melissa’s work has been featured in REMEZCLA, Glamour, Maudlin House, Washington Square News, Luna Luna Magazine, The Kenyon Review, Fierce by Mitu, and Herstory. She is the co-host, with fellow poet Olivia Gatwood, of the popular podcast Say More, and her first novel, Dreaming of You, will be released in the Fall of 2021.

This event is open to all students, alumni, faculty, and staff. To join us, please register below. After registering, you will receive an email from Hailey Duquette (admin of the ENL & Comm. dept.) as a confirmation of your approved registration, featuring a hyperlink reading "Click Here to Join" that will bring you to the secure Zoom meeting.
