Due to inclement weather ⛈️ sprint club will be cancelled on Tuesday 6/11. We will monitor Thursday’s forecast to see if there will be sprint club on 6/13.

The sprint club practice has been cancelled today (Thursday June 6th) we will meet back again on Tuesday June 11th. We apologize for this last minute inconvenience.

We are one month away from our annual Firecracker 5k. This is the Cross Country team’s fundraiser. This year we have hand-built trophies for our overall’s. And our special 2-piece medals for our placers. Looking forward to this years event, which is held on the largest on campus cross country meet in the state of Florida (North Port XC Invite)

The Track and Field team hosted the 4a 8 District finals yesterday at the Preserve.

Congratulations to the girls 4x800 relay team (Brenda Smith, Amber Turner, Megan Taylor and Malia Hambrick) as they won first place and broke the school record with a new mark of 9:44.00.
Shout out as well to Alivia Tison who became the first ever javelin district champion
Maisy Smith who is the first freshman in school history to win districts in the pole vault.

The following girls placed top four and will be joining the district champion on regional competition at Newsome on 5/8:

🚨School Records Night🚨

The Boys and girls track team travels to charlotte high last night to compete in the 25 team Wally Kellar Invite. Girls finished 9th and Boys finished 4th overall but the highlights of the night has to go to the school records going down

Alivia Tison took first in the Javelin with a new school record with a throw of 38.5 meters! 🥇

Damien Howard then broke his own record with a 10.67 time in the 100m dash! And taking first 🥇

Malia Hambrick competing for the very first time in the 3200m (2 mile) and breaks the school record with a time of 11:16 on her first attempt!

🚨 Meet Cancellation 🚨

We have cancelled the Track me at Venice High School on April 9th.

*Also all JV athletes will need to turn their uniforms in to Coach Phu (7-106) asap or they will be charged for their uniforms.

UF Relays results.

Our qualifying athletes competed this weekend at the University of Florida against some of the top talents in Florida.

Our girls throwers represented greatly with
Cassi Mendez getting 18th in the discus and Alivia Tison getting 11th in the Javelin.

Malia Hambrick took 18th in the 800m and 12th in the 1600m.

Then to close out the weekend our girls 4x800 of Brenda Smith, Amber Turner, Megan Taylor, and Malia Hambrick ran their season best for a 14th place finish.

And the highlight of the week were the boys 4x200m relay of Ozias Dorsey, Venald Becker, Dave Swearing, and Damian Howard breaking the school record and earning the only top 10 finish for the bobcats with a 9th place finish.
