My favorite part was everyone’s theories on how the wedding could be saved. 😄 Great discussion, shared photos of weddings they’d been to, stories of being bridesmaids or a best man… lots of questions and answers as we read this summer feel-good story. So don’t glare when someone parks with one of these ♿️but they don’t look “bad enough” to need it. 😉 Pain doesn’t always cause a limp. Exhaustion doesn’t always mean pushing yourself in a wheelchair is any easier than just trying to walk. Don’t judge. And don’t park in those spaces “just for a minute to run in real quick”. 🤨 Be kind, and assume the best intentions. 🙂

📖 ✍🏼 👀 Parents often hear my Fine Arts Class includes literature, and they warn me that their child doesn’t enjoy reading or writing. I hear you, and I get it. Hear me out. We choose our books together based on their interests. We take small steps. We are in no rush. We talk about it as we go along. Then these moments happen where they volunteer to read, they choose to write down cool words and phrases, AND after seeing me do it constantly, they’ll spontaneously choose to cross-reference for more information! “Hold on, I want to find a picture of that!” 😃“Wait, let me see if I can find that on a map.” 🗺️ “Whoa, does that mean Poseidon was King Triton’s DAD?!” 🧜‍♀️ This is not school. This is enjoying literature.

I do LOVE horses! Here are a few pics of me from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s and 2020. And of course, I had to include a horse in one of the stories for my friends with intellectual disabilities! Max, the groom has autism, and his bride, Joy has Down syndrome. 🐾 Dog Days of Summer?! 😃I didn’t catch pictures of all of them, but everyone’s dogs seemed interested in the camera this week! No one’s complaining about this fun twist! 🐕

It’s so important to celebrate the rights and protections of the Americans with Disabilities Act from July 1990, and to continue to advocate and vote to protect those rights, and seek new protections. 📖🥀🕯️🎤 🎶🎨 Our online Fine Arts Classes incorporate music, art & literature, and Samantha rocked all three today! 📖 We read “Beauty & The Beast”, then sang some songs from the movie! 🎤“Evermore” & “Beauty & the Beast”. THEN she played Beauty & the Beast on the PIANO! 🎹 😃 Add in her cool art, 🖍️ and that was one super fun class! Way to go, Samantha! 💙💛

🚘📖🎤🎶 Pairing our favorite songs with our favorite stories is so much fun! Mary Claire and I read “Cars” and then jammed along to “Life Is A Highway”! Some people dread Mondays but not at DeCamville Arts! 💙💛

📖🎹🎤🎶Each of my students planned their own classes this week! 📖👻🎩👀Matt and I read about ghosts around the US, including Abraham Lincoln who is sometimes seen standing by the fireplace in the Oval Office! 🎆 Mary Claire sang “Firework”!🤩🎤🎶Samantha and Claire played songs on the piano like “The Star Spangled Banner”! 🎹🇺🇸⭐️ We all wish you a safe weekend.

I FINALLY got to a Bitty & Beau’s! ☕️ Amazing staff, friendly service and excellent menu! 😃😍🤩☺️💙💛 If you have one of these radically inclusive coffee shops near you, I highly recommend it!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
