He has authored several reports detailing the financial performance of Norwood Airport. Bob is a 28-year member of Town Meeting and has

served on other town boards, including the Personnel Board, where he served as its first Chair. The Personnel Board was instrumental in establishing the Town’s first Human Resources Department. Additionally, he served on the Personnel By-Law Study Committee and as Chair of the Personnel Advisory Committee. Pierre, have resided in Norwood for 31 years. They are the proud parents of Erin Donnelly, who, like her father is a graduate of Norwood High School. He is a volunteer on the Concerts on the Common Committee, Summerfest Committee, and the Norwood Food Pantry. He is a congregant at St. Mary’s Parish in East Walpole. Bob is a retired Human Resources professional with management experience in the public sector, the consumer products industry and healthcare. He graduated with a master’s degree in Public Administration from Northeastern University. On the Finance Commission, Bob has been a proponent for the adoption of financial “best practices” to better understand Norwood’s revenue and expense trends. He presented information on these practices from other municipalities which were later adopted. These include creating a long-term financial forecast and establishing an override pledge to taxpayers to guide the development of the Town’s annual budget. Bob has also been a strong advocate for aggressively funding Norwood’s stabilization reserve and pension liabilities. According to Bob, “These actions are needed for Norwood to attain the very best credit rating, one that would result in significant savings for large-scale building projects such as the proposed new middle school.”

As a Selectman, Bob will urge Norwood to develop a formal strategic plan that identifies the long-term programs, services, and plans that ensure a vibrant economy and a town infrastructure that is resilient and able to react to changes in the economy and environment. He will propose establishing a capital reserve fund to help plan for and pay for long-term and large-scale capital projects. As Norwood’s infrastructure and facilities continue to age, we will need a financial plan that addresses capital projects such as the needed improvements to our stormwater system. Bob’s experience as an elected member of Finance Commission demonstrates that he can identify and promote ideas and actions that benefit the Town. To quote Bob, "As a member of the Board of Selectmen, you are only one of 5 votes. To be successful, you need to communicate your positions and ideas, but also build good working relationships with your colleagues and town staff and find the common interests that help push the Town forward. I have the right experience and a reputation for diligence and collaboration needed to be a valuable addition to the Board of Selectmen.”

Yesterday was another milestone for the new Coakley Middle School project with a Topping Off ceremony! A steel beam signed by a number of project staff, town and school staff and officials and CMS students was raised high and secured to the front of the building. The video included in this post will give you a good perspective as to what the ceremony consisted of! Nice work by all and we look forward to the building’s completion in September 2025!!
