Why do physicians choose HEAL out of the hundreds of global health fellowships?

Because we are actively decolonizing global health while serving resource-denied communities around the world through our Bidirectional Training Model.

We bring in US physicians to serve resource-denied communities while also supporting healthcare workers who belong to that community to receive the same health equity training. Throughout the fellowship, they collaborate and innovate together.

If you’re a physician and want to join a community of healthcare professionals who center solidarity, justice, and equity in their global health work, apply to join our 2025 Global HEAL Cohort. 📅Apply by 9/30/24.

We support:

1️⃣ The right to call for a and peacefully protest as students of one the largest public university systems in the world. Along with this letter by UC faculty to protect students (https://sites.google.com/view/nopoliceactions)
2️⃣ The divestment of UCs from companies profiting from the genocide in Gaza. The UC system led the way in 1986 by divesting from companies profiting from apartheid in South Africa and in 2020 by divesting from fossil fuels. Budgets are moral documents. We should not profit from genocide. We call on all UCs to lead once again with transparency in investments and divest from companies profiting from the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We commend UC Riverside’s leadership on starting this process and the Riverside students who led the way.
3️⃣ We support a permanent ceasefire. We condemn all violence, anti-semitic hate speech, and anti-arab hate speech. We support the release of hostages. We emphatically support the cessation of targeting of journalists, patients, and health workers.

You can’t be neutral on a moving train. We raise our voices as a UC program valuing human rights and stopping unnecessary death. We join the voices of those standing with Palestinians struggling through famine and ongoing genocide.
