Immune-mediated keratitis (IMMK), wherein the immune system launches an attack on the eye, is becoming increasingly recognized in the horse. There are several forms and some require very different treatment strategies. If you horse has a newly cloudy eye without an obvious reason, even if he does not appear overtly painful, consider having his eyes evaluated to rule out this condition.

When activated, platelets release a large number of growth factors and other factors that stimulate tissue repair, leading to faster and improved healing and helping get our equine and canine athletes back to competition!
