Ocean Shores Public Library
Access the world in Ocean Shores through your public library! Come in with photo i.d. and proof of mailing address and get your own library card.
Library cards are free for Ocean Shores residents and property owners. Non-resident cards are $25.00 a year, or $10.00 for a three month temporary card. North Beach School District Students who live outside of Ocean Shores can get a card for free. We have 17 public computers you can use for up to one hour a day. We also have Wifi available.

On June 19th Kelly Calhoun from the Museum of the North Beach came and presented a fascinating, educational program on the history of the North Beach area.
Teens had fun solving a murder mystery at the Library. This event is part of the Teen Summer Reading Program and is sponsored by the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library There is still time to sign up for the summer reading program and earn prizes for reading!

The Summer Reading Kick Off Party happened on June 14th. The Ocean Shores Friends of the Library provided ice cream for everyone and Jeff Evans entertained.
A big thanks to author Steven Craig for his presentation and book signing. The Library has his book "All present and accounted for" in the local authors collection.
The Battle of the Funny Books Tournament is still going strong and it is down to 4 titles. Kids can come in and vote for their favorite until July 28th.
Ginger Hiatt is sharing her extensive rock collection in the Library lobby case for the month of July. Come in and enjoy this educational and eye catching display.
The artist of the month is Kimberly Ammons. Kimberly's photography is from Oregon and Washington as well as from her travels to the California Coast, San Lucas, Victoria, Canada and Hawaii. Come see all the lovely photographs she is displaying all month.
The DVD display for June is musicals. Enjoy classic and modern musicals. There is a limit of 5 DVDs per card and they check out for 1 week.
Thank you to the members of the local VFW Post 8956 Auxiliary for sharing this wonderful creation with the Ocean Shores Library. Summer Reading sign ups have started! Come to the kick off party on Thursday the 20th at 1 pm. Enjoy ice cream treats and a magic show from Jeff Evans at 2 pm. Everyone is invited.
The Gallery of Ocean Shores does a beautiful 3-D art display every month above the new non-fiction. We appreciate the artists sharing their works with everyone who comes into the Library. Art can be purchased through the Gallery.
The Teen Summer Reading Kick Off Party was held Friday, June 14th and teens had a great time making their own sundaes, playing Twister and participating in a Limbo contest. Thanks to the Friends Of the Library for sponsoring all the teen events!
The DVD collection being highlighted for the month of June is Legal Films -- movies about lawyers, judges, and juries. Come and check out one or five today. DVD feature films check out for one week.
The Sea Pal Quilting group is sharing this lovely quilt with everyone for the month of June. Hanging in Meeting Room 2 is "Baby Quilt Sampler" pieced by Judi Rosenberg and quilted by Jane Adams
The ribbon cutting for the new electronic sign in front of the Library was on June 10th. Thanks to the Library Foundation for funding this project as well as the donors who made it happen. CMD Sign & Electric company worked hard to make this dream a reality.
The Library 'Book Worm' fire hydrant got a fresh coat of paint and is looking fine! Thanks to Susan La Madrid for designing and maintaining this artistic hydrant.
The local Master Gardeners group has done a lovely display in the Lobby Display case for June. There are fun miniature gardens of all different types to enjoy. They are advertising the Garden Tour on July 20th.
Pickleball on the Pavilion on a gorgeous beach day. Thanks to the Damon Park pickleball players who demonstrated the game, and educated everyone on the rules.
The artist for 'Art in the Library' for the month of June is Michael Depue. He was a cabinet maker and found a use for the leftover scraps of wood. He made art!
The Ocean Shores Library Foundation is sponsoring these informative presentations about personal finance. This event will take place in the Ocean Shores Library meeting room.
Thanks to the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library for sponsoring a lovely afternoon tea time with Claire Hollenbaugh with The Fancy Accent Tea Company. Participants learned about the history and etiquette of tea as well as the different teas available.

This month's quilt on display from the Sea Pal Quilters of Ocean Shores is called "My English Garden" Designed and pieced by Kathleen Hodge and quilted by Jane Adams. It is hanging in meeting room 2, come and see it in person.

Our Story
If you live in Ocean Shores or own property here, you are eligible for a free library card. The Ocean Shores Library is a city library and not part of any other system. Non-residents may purchase a card. It is $15.00 for a three month card or $45.00 for a year. Any student that attends a North Beach school can get a free library card, regardless of where they live. You library card can help you access the world through books, DVDs, public computers, WI-FI and more. Check us out!
