It's easy to tell a leader, "You're too deep in the weeds, too hands-on. You MUST delegate more!" It's another thing for them to be able to let go of specific roles, responsibilities, and tasks.

One reason might be that they love doing what they perceive as the "only thing they can do or they do best."

I assured him that someone in his organization is likely faster, quicker, and better at this task AND enjoys it. This simple idea blew his mind. He had convinced himself since it sucked for him for him, it would suck for everyone else too.
