Abstracts due February 17
The 20th Anniversary Water Conservation Showcase will take place on June 15 at the San Ramon Valley Conference Center. Abstracts may be for a presentation, panel, or workshop and include new research and case studies. Sessions will be limited to 1 hour with additional time for questions. Abstract submitters may be paired with other speakers addressing similar topics. Speakers are required to be in person.

How is master planning changing for the community of the future? In this session, attendees will learn from experts on the key considerations needed to deliver a thriving, diverse community. Tamika Butler will kick off the discussion, setting context on the value equity plays when approaching a master plan, followed by an insightful panel discussion with key leaders driving actionable change on landmark projects in Northern and Southern California. Topics will touch on infrastructure and resilience, job creation, community representation and stakeholder engagement, art, and financial viability for development. Speakers will address the evolving manner in which teams can redevelop our communities at scale through a more inclusive process that holistically ensures social equity.

Yoki will talk about his new collaboration with Orange Coast College and how even one unique Orange County designer can make a difference.
- Grover Burthey, PIMCO. Execute Vice President in Newport Beach office, where he leads all portfolio management responsibilities for ESG investing. He will give highlights from their Net Zero Framework.
- Networking Reception: The program will be followed by a networking reception where attendees will have the opportunity to talk to speakers one-on-one, interact with leaders in the green building industry, explore the Boardwalk, network with peers, and enjoy light refreshments. The USGBC California community is invited to engage with the green building community by joining USGBC Northern California and USGBC Orange County for an Open House on Monday, January 31st at 4:00 p.m. PST. This virtual event will offer a preview of upcoming events and programs for 2022, briefly share California community highlights from 2021, and serve to reimagine our USGBC future together. Most importantly, we invite you to share your ideas and hopes for USGBC and tell the MLAB and USGBC directors what you would like to see happening in the years to come. We will have interactive sessions to gain input from the community.
