Meet Alec Thompson - Class of ’21 ❤️ 🐾

Alec Thompson’s journey to Chapman University began with a desire to escape the confines of Colorado for the sunny skies of California. “I was drawn to the sunny skies, surf, and the stunning campus of Chapman University,” he shares. His initial connections through dorms and fraternity life laid a strong foundation for his personal and professional growth.

Alec’s time at Chapman was marked by an eagerness to learn and a passion for business and the entertainment industry, which he explored through a B.S. in International Business with a minor in Television at Dodge College. “This exposure helped me grow my skill set,” he explains, “as I conversed with a diverse group of individuals with unique interests and perspectives.”

After two years post-undergrad and faced with challenges in the real estate industry due to the pandemic, Jake returned to for an M.S. in Real Estate degree.

Grateful for influential professors and the Chapman community, Jake acknowledges the support of mentors like Perry Schonfeld, Chris Lowe, and the Argyros Career Team. He also credits his fraternity involvement with which ended up opening doors to internships in multifamily apartment investing, solidifying his commitment to commercial real estate.

Dylan is the Co-Founder and Vice President of Marketing and Research and Development of ! ⛳️🏌️ Dylan started his academic journey at the Argyros College of Business. However, influenced by his father, a business partner and mentor, Dylan shifted his focus to psychology () to broaden his knowledge beyond business.

When it comes to entrepreneurship, Dylan says “I am learning what I do well in the business and allowing others who specialize in their jobs the creative freedom to work.”. The dynamic partnership with his father, with complementary skills, has been a key element of their success.

Originally a music major, Ariel made a pivotal decision to switch to Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance, and after graduating in December of 2022, Ariel is now thriving as an Investment Analyst at Canterbury Consulting!

Ariel highlights her involvement in the Janes Financial Center where she was an equities analyst and got to help make investment decisions for a portion of the school’s endowment and recognizes Fadel Lawandy and Jim Dusserre as her all-time favorite professors.

Meet Anamarie Ellis - Class of ‘16! ❤️🐾

Anamarie started working at her family’s business, Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery in Las Vegas, at the age of 14 in one of our restaurants. She always had an interest in growing in the business, and is now Vice President of Operations, overseeing Slots, Table Games, and Hotel Operations as well as Casino Marketing and Player Development. 🎰🎲

In November, Anamarie got to see the Las Vegas Strip and Ellis Island Casino transform for the Formula 1 Heineken Silver Las Vegas Grand Prix 2023. Turn 4 at Ellis Island became a prime location for gathering, viewing, and enjoying the festivities taking place in Las Vegas during the event. 🏎️🎉
