Join us tonight Monday, October 28th at the LGBT Center Orlando, 6:30PM to discuss the topic “Labels”!

Where is language helpful on an individual and/or more expansive level within the LGBTQ+ community? How can labels be harmful? In what ways may labels help us find others with shared lived experience? In what ways could it make it harder? What do you want to discuss around labels? We look forward to joining with new and existing friends!

Butterfly Talks is a free peer-led support space for q***r women. We welcome other underrepresented genders within the LGBTQ+ community including trans friends and those with genders outside the binary. This is a nonjudgemental space to make friends and build a support system.

In this space we:
🌈 Respect and validate every sexual/romantic orientation and gender.
🌈 Are welcoming and work together to make new members feel welcome.
🌈 Are non-judgmental and uplifting.
🌈 Are not a dating service; we are friends and allow ourselves to be vulnerable.
🌈 Give every member an equal chance to share if wanted.

For any questions, or accessibility needs, please email Yasmin (she/they) at [email protected].

Join us October 16th for Lotus - a for Q***r Asian (expansive umbrella term, we know) community members. This month’s topic will be “lepoards eating my face.” The title of the meeting is a nod to the idea of unintended consequences—the “leopards” of this metaphor being the very policies some might have supported, only to realize they negatively affect us later. As q***r Asians, we also face unique intersections of marginalization, and this discussion will examine how policy shifts like these can ripple through marginalized communities in ways we might not expect. This discussion will revolve around the ironic consequences of policies and decisions that harm Asian American who may have supported them, such as the result of SCOTUS’s overturning affirmative action in colleges last year. Come join us as we discuss about why this happens and how we can prevent “lepoards” from eating our faces.

A massive thank you to over 60 volunteers that showed out today to create care packages for our trans community members from strangers that care!

The world, particularly Florida, may be hostile right now but there’s a lot of love for y’all. We’ve officially passed over 500 care packages made from these volunteer days. We give out plushies, flags, pins, art kits, essential oil, fidgets, and most loved - handwritten letters.

A special shout out to for sponsoring our event and for partnering with on this volunteer day again. Thank you .jude, , , .hill and all organizers and volunteers that were a part of tonight.

Email [email protected] to join future volunteer days and [email protected] to sponsor the materials for our next set of trans joy care packages.
