We are gathering to learn and play together on some really great topics with really great presenters all focused on supporting children's wellness through play therapy! I am thrilled to share that in March 2025 I'll be leading 2 days of experiential, spirit-nurturing mindfulness and nature play therapy training for child and family mental health professionals on Wekiva Island in Florida! *'Twas the Night Before Mastermind*

'Twas the night before Mastermind, and all through the web,
Not a masterminder was stirring, no calls to embed.
The schedules were set in the calendars with care,
In hopes that breakthroughs soon would be there.

The therapists nestled, each one in their home,
With visions of insights, no more to roam.
With plans for their sessions, and dreams of new heights,
They dreamt of Permission to Pivot that night.

When out on their screens there arose such a clatter,
They sprang to their desks to see what was the matter.
Away to their laptops they flew like a flash,
Logged into Facebook and email and refreshed in a dash.

The glow of the monitors, bright on their face,
Gave a luster of midday to each digital space.
When, what to their wondering eyes should appear,
But a group of five colleagues, brimming with cheer.

With a confident leader, so lively and quick,
They knew in a moment, this mastermind would stick.
More rapid than eagles, the therapists came,
And they whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:

"Now Hannah! Now Valencia! Now, Halle and Misty!
On, Kris! Let's gather, a new path to see!
To the top of our goals! To the top of our call!
Now pivot away! Pivot away all!"

As ideas that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the heights of their careers they flew,
With a mind full of dreams, and strategies too.

And then, in a twinkling, they heard in their mind,
The prancing and pawing of each idea they’d find.
As they centered themselves and turned to the screen,
Into the session, each one beamed with sheen.

They were dressed for success, from their heads to their feet,
And their spirits were high, no sign of defeat.
A bundle of strategies they had in their packs,
And they looked like business-women, ready to act.

Their eyes—how they twinkled! Their smiles, how merry!
Their passion for growth, like a bright visionary!
Their eager excitement was drawn up like a bow,
And their confidence shone, like new-fallen snow.

The leader spoke clearly, with a calm, steady tone,
Encouraging each therapist, they were not alone.
A wink of the eye and a twist of the head,
Soon gave them to know they had nothing to dread.

They spoke not a word, but went straight to their work,
And prepared their notebooks, then turned with a jerk.
And raising their glasses to toast the night,
They marveled at futures, both bright and so right.

The sessions began, full of wisdom and light,
"Happy Mastermind to all, and to all a good night!"

How to disarm a person who flooded with anger:
1) Do not tell a person with anger that they have a problem with anger or they will turn it on you.
2) Offer the possibility that feeling less anger is in their best interest and they will likely agree which sets the stage for progress.
3) Invite the person to try a technique of sitting with back of hands resting on lap or legs with palms open and relaxed.
When we come into this hand position of receptivity or willingness to it’s very difficult for the emotion of anger to continue.
