Fieldguides had so much fun at Memorial County Park this fall. Highlights were macro invertebrates in the creek, some great hikes (we beat the heat!!), navigation challenges, and some backpacking prep for those who will venture out to Point Reyes in the spring. 🎒🪳🪲🌲🌲🗺️🧭 🍄🟫
We had a week of backpacking in Point Reyes this fall. We saw coyotes, elk, a skunk, and seals! While waiting for the tide to drop to visit Alamere Falls, we had a rock and sand castle competition. Can’t forget about ending the trip with a beach fire where we saw bioluminescence in the sand 😊🌊🐚🪵
We took three trips in the Emigrant this fall season! From cooking over fires, hiking above 9,000 ft, and seeing an appearance of the aurora borealis, we all had a great time. 🥾🥾⛰️⛰️😊😊
Fall season adventures have been in full swing! Can you guess where we’ve been? 🥾🤨🚸

Can I get a heck YES if you wish you were out backpacking today?
What a difference a summer makes! We love when we get to see students return to our programs year after year! These students from Sonoma Country Day School Sonoma Country Day School first came as 6th Graders to Memorial County Park for their first camping program. This fall they came back as 7th Graders for a sweet camping/backpacking combo program at Henry W. Coe State Park! AND we'll get to see them again this spring for a full week of backpacking at Pt. Reyes National Seashore! This is what our multi-year middle school expeditions are all about!
Happy Earth Day! 🌎🌱 What better way to celebrate the Earth than by spending some time amongst the worlds tallest trees! It’s amazing to be able to look at the cross section of this 490 year old tree out at Memorial County Park and think about the redwoods that are 2,000 years old- what an amazing perspective on the world.
It’s been stormy this week, but it was sunny skies last week at Salt Point State Park! What a wonderful way to kick off the season! Thank you to the Healdsburg 4th Graders!
How it started… how it ended. ☔️💛☀️ You know your staff is amazing when they’re smiling through training with an atmospheric river coming at ‘em!
