PCC QUEST Center
LGBTQ+ and Undocumented Student Resource Center at Pasadena City College
📍R-422
Dear friends,
It is with great joy and excitement that we announce the expansion of the former QUEST Center into two distinct spaces that will serve two vital communities. We are thrilled to introduce you to the PCC Pride Center and the PCC Dream Resource Center.
For many of us, the QUEST Center was a home away from home, a safe space where we could be ourselves, connect with others, and find support and resources. It is a place where we built meaningful relationships, shared our stories, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Now, as the center evolves into two distinct spaces, we invite you to join us in celebrating this exciting new chapter. The PCC Pride Center will serve as a hub for the LGBTQIA+ community, a space where we can come together, celebrate our identities, and advocate for our rights. The PCC Dream Resource Center will provide critical resources and support for undocumented members of our community, a place where we can access the tools we need to thrive and succeed.
We are incredibly proud of the work that has been done to create these new spaces, and we are committed to making them welcoming and inclusive for all who seek refuge and support within their walls. We invite you to join us in this new chapter by following our new Instagram accounts, and , signing up for our new newsletters, and by visiting us in person when the time is right.
As we move forward, we carry with us the memories and the love that we shared at the QUEST Center. We honor the history that we have created together and look forward to the new memories and connections that we will make in our new spaces.
With love and gratitude,
The PCC Pride Center and PCC Dream Resource Center Teams.
The new Pride Center is happy to announce its first event! After listening to the voices of our students we have heard about the struggles many face constantly being dead-named on misgendered. While on campus the center has provided easy access to change your name on school services. That same experience isn't immediately available off campus.
Join us for an informational workshop where you will learn about the name change process and have the opportunity to legally change your name by the end of the event. This is a multi day event so we encourage you to click the link in our bio to learn more! Our FREE attorneys will also be providing application fee waivers to remove and reduce the cost to change your name. On the final day of the event, as a center, we will all go to the court house and submit our documents as a community!

Summary: DISCLOSURE is an unprecedented, eye-opening look at transgender depictions in film and television, revealing how Hollywood simultaneously reflects and manufactures our deepest anxieties about gender. Leading trans thinkers and creatives, including Laverne Cox, Lilly Wachowski, Yance Ford, Mj Rodriguez, Jamie Clayton, and Chaz Bono, share their reactions and resistance to some of Hollywood’s most beloved moments. Grappling with films like A Florida Enchantment (1914), Dog Day Afternoon, The Crying Game, and Boys Don’t Cry, and with shows like The Jeffersons, The L-Word, and Pose, they trace a history that is at once dehumanizing, yet also evolving, complex, and sometimes humorous.

Time: 12 - 2PM

About the books:

“As the daughter of Korean immigrants, Cathy Park Hong grew up steeped in shame, suspicion, and melancholy. She would later understand that these “minor feelings” occur when American optimism contradicts your own reality…”
