So, we're planning to document the stories, the struggles for women seeking housing in LA for all to see in surround-sound at the LA Women in Film Fest! We want our sponsors to see their faces, hear their stories, and know how they can help us change this thing.
A staggering 70% of households headed by single female renters report paying significantly more than 30% of their income on rent.
Community Rooted serves women through a business model that builds and manages Accessory Dwelling Units at no cost to homeowners.
In Los Angeles County, the ninth most expensive city in the country, average rental cost far exceeds determined housing affordability. Further, the most affordable units–studio apartments, make up only 17% of total rental stock. 😮
Community Rooted is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit whose mission is to craft safe, quality ADUs for women at no cost to homeowners.
