Schoolhouse Connection is asking high school and higher education professionals, service providers, and others who assist homeless and foster youth to complete the FAFSA to provide feedback on their experience with the 2024-2025 FAFSA.

The Transition Age Youth Research and Evaluation Hub (TAY-Hub) has released a brief summarizing a peer-reviewed source article on food insecurity among transition-age youth exiting foster care.

The study found that staying in extended foster care and receiving greater amounts of public benefits reduced the risk of food insecurity during the transition into adulthood.

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is re-launching a new California LifeLine Foster Youth Pilot Program that will provide a cell phone and related services to foster youth across the state. This program was created by iFoster and effective July 31, 2024, responsibility will be transferred to the CPUC.

Families celebrate new beginnings on National Adoption Day New families were made celebrated across the country on Saturday as part of National Adoption Day. Tom Wait reports on some special celebrations underway in Los Angeles.

Please join Raise A Child and our Southern California agency partners (DCFS, Sycamores, Allies, Five Acres, Futuro Infantil, Aviva and Penny Lane Centers) to learn about the requirements and benefits of becoming a resource parent to a child in foster care.
