With interest rates on the rise the increase in a potential monthly payment can seem daunting. Here are a couple of tips to help you in your house hunt.
Buyer Tip #1: Ask your CPA about mortgage interest tax deductions. The higher the interest the more that can be deducted. Your CPA can inform you on the tax benefit of deducting your interest.
Buyer Tip #2: Consider buying down your mortgage interest rate and deducting the non-recurring closing costs. Ask your lender the cost of buying down your rate, and consult your CPA on how the non-recurring closing cost tax deductions work.
