Calling all visual artists who are creating for the Christmas season already! Gallery Doxa, through one of our partner churches PazNaz, is inviting submissions of artwork for an inaugural show called “Hope, Peace, Joy, Love.”

Are you a pastor or church leader who preaches regularly and would like to grow in your leadership capacity for creativity, curiosity, and courage? Consider applying to be part of a Brehm Preaching research study on Artful Leadership and earn a $150 stipend.

CHOSEN VOLUNTEERS WILL:
*Complete a self-directed, asynchronous, online FULLER Equip course—Artful Leadership—through which you will develop spiritual practices utilizing basic practices of art-making in the areas of visual art, music, dance, and poetry (about 15 hours total, spread out over 4-8 weeks in April-June 2024, working at your own pace).
*Participate in a focus group discussion on Zoom with 4-5 other participants in the study, following completion of the course (1 hour, schedule TBD in June and July 2024).
*Each participant must also have publicly available videos of their preaching in services of worship, which will be analyzed by the research team to identify the presence of 3Cs markers. (Must preach at least one sermon during January-March 2024, April-July 2024, and August-October 2024.)
BENEFITS TO VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION INCLUDE:
*Engagement in an art-based, theologically informed educational opportunity that, according to previous studies, may have demonstrable cognitive and social benefits;
*Opportunity for development of new spiritual formation practices;
*Hypothesized increase in capacity for curiosity, creativity, and courage in your preaching and leadership;
*Gratification of contributing to academic research in the areas of preaching, theology, art, and leadership; and
*Payment of $150.
