A break from work, break from the kids, break from trainings, break from doing the chores….we all need a break sometimes from the stressors of everyday living. ☀️

As a therapist, this is a serious issue that I see nowadays with couples. 📲 And the reality is that your social media engagements (what you see, what you do online) can kill your relationship. 💔 Whether it be scrolling or liking/commenting on inappropriate content (ie thirst traps, ex partners, explicit photos of celebrities), what you do behind your partner’s back has the ability to emotionally hurt your partner and destroy trust. Be conscientious, not mindless. 🧠
If you discover your partner doing things online that are hurting you, be honest with them. Let them know how you feel about it and then talk about a plan of action on what to do moving forward. If you find your partner denying or minimizing their online behaviors, consider getting help from a therapist. 🫶🏻
If you are the partner that has hurt your loved one by inapproprate online behaviors, know that trust is slowly built over time. Listen to your loved ones and their concerns, and offer to make changes necessary to show you prioritize and value the relationship. Be patient with them as it takes time to mend a shattered heart. ❤️‍🩹

First dates can be quite anxiety provoking. Your mind might flutter with worries about what you will wear, if you will say the wrong thing, will he/she like you, and whether this date will lead into a potential relationship.

One simple advice…have fun! Enjoy the moment with your date, be present, and get to know them!

Practical dating advice for you singles out there! 💕

Blessed this past week to have been invited to share with a local church on ministering and welcoming those that are LGBTQ+. For those that don’t know, half of the LGBTQ+ population are religious and are Christian. However, 75% suffer from anxiety, and 52% suffer from depression. It is such an honor for me to see our local churches here in Hawaii touching people from all walks of life and sharing about God’s love with them. This is truly the work of the gospel.
