While I was checking on some guests today, I Had the privilege to meet and talk to a group of entrepreneurs who were in town from Dallas, California, and 1 from Houston. We had a great conversation about business, customer service, construction, the economy, marketing, and they even offered advice and helped me set goals…. Hahaha.

It’s all about the people, the community that allows us to be able to do what we do!!!

And to be able to just have a great conversation with neighbors and strangers is a pretty good feeling to!!!

Last years best that I liked was “Dragon Breath” and I had thought of that before I posted also. But I want to stay away from another item on the menu with the word “Dragon” in it to avoid any possible confusion when ordering.

Want to give a SPECIAL SHOUT OUT TO COACH SHELLY God put you at where in life you need to be for his reasons.
We had a guest having a medical episode the other day. I had just left to run errands, I even asked their table how was everything and they said everything is awesome!
Coach Shelly had stopped by to get her grub on and she called me to say hi. Not seconds into the call she said hold on something is happening. She put the phone down and later I hear her telling my staff Harold’s on the phone tell him what’s going on. My staff told me a lady had fainted.

I bust a u-turn and get back to the restaurant, walking in I see coach Shelly on the floor holding the lady on her side comforting her letting her know she’s ok. We were fanning her down but this repeated again for 3 times. I asked if she was on any medication her mother said no. Her mother said she was just burnt out from working late and not eating the night before. I told her mom call 911 after the second time she fainted. When the lady woke up again she was embarrassed and said other customers were looking at her and apologized and kept saying I promise it’s not the food. I said don’t worry about no one else we got you, oh I know it’s not the food. I asked her mother if the ambulance were on the way, but she had hung up because her daughter had woke up again the second time she thought she was ok. The lady was saying she can’t go to the hospital, she had to pick up her kids from school. I told her you cannot pick your kids up like this, you will be putting them in danger. She passed out again in front of us. Shelly and I told her mother we need to get her to a hospital right now. I told her mother get the car ready we have a Methodist er at the end of our shopping center. We got her in the car and her mother took her there.

Shelly’s quick thinking turning her on her side and to be down on the floor comforting her is above and beyond for most strangers.

With the partnership of Pearland convention & Visitors Bureau I am happy to announce we are at the beginning of our launch of “Pearland Restaurant Weeks”!!!

This has been a project I’ve been trying to make happen for months now. Honestly this would not be happening without the team at Pearland convention & Visitors Bureau. They truly helped with setting the foundation work to get this into a reality. Also thank you Phaedra from houston Food Finder as well for all you advice and opinions that helped with getting this put together as well. This is an idea, a great idea that’s been adopted by cities all over the nation. To support and showcase local restaurants and at the same time directly help the community they are in!

The nonprofit organization we are partnering up with is Pearland neighborhood Center or also referred to as Pearland neighborhood Pantry. This organization not only helps to aim at feeding the hungry and clothing drives but also helps to find shelter for the homeless as well as collecting and distributing toys for Christmas time and is also the only designated disaster center for the northern Brazoria county. There is so much more this organization does to help with our community, so we could not be more happier to be partnered with them for this great cause!

There is a $100 sign up fee for restaurants wanting to participate, but that is not really a fee. The $100 will go towards your total donations. Meaning if your total donations is say $200 you will only donate another $100 at the end due date. Because that’s initial $100 sign up fee helps go towards your donations.

The date Pearland Restaurant weeks will kick off will be Nov. 7-20th of This year. For next year the schedule might be earlier in the year but like I mentioned this took some time from some of us to put together and we wanted to launch this year and to be able to do it right.

I will try to answer as many questions as I can but most could be answered by checking out the link.

All donations will be made directly to Pearland neighborhood center. We at Boiling Dragon or Pearland visitors & convention bureau will never have any contact with any of the donations.

After interested restaurants that want to participate have paid the sign up fee to Pearland neighborhood center and submitted their menu online, Pearland Neighborhood Center will have a check off list and communicate to Visit Pearland and then It will be set up on the website for all to see.

If there are any other questions like I said I will be more than happy to answer. But if I don’t respond fast enough please be patient, I will always try my best!!
