To celebrate the beginning of summer, our Prevention Initiative (Prenatal-3) program families were invited to join us at the Fon du Lac Farm Park in East Peoria. Our littest friends got to feed the farm park animals with cones of animal feed, they played on the playgrounds, and explored the beautiful environment. Everyone had the best time!!!

Splashing around in the water is part of summer fun! Whether they’re spending the day at the beach, on a lake, or playing in the pool, make sure your kids know these basic water safety skills. Kids should be able to:
• Step or jump into water over their head and return to the surface.
• Turn around in the water and orient to safety.
• Float or tread water.
• Combine breathing with forward movement in the water.
• Exit the water.
• Even when children know how to swim, we recommend adults take turns supervising.
Please help our community partners at Child and Family Connections #14 with this survey for families! Thank you
Community Needs Assessment This community needs assessment will help Early Intervention and collaborating partners identify additional resources and supports for the families we serve.
The Prevention Initiative (Prenatal-age 3) program participants from the southwest side of the county all met at Alpha Park Library in Bartonville to learn about fire safety. Thank you to the Bartonville Fire Department for bringing a truck out for our little friends to climb on and explore, and thank you for sharing your fire safety tips with the adults!
Kids need active supervision at all times when in and around water, even at home. When using tubs or inflatable/portable pools, remember to empty them immediately after use. Store them upside down and out of children’s reach.
Play Along: Following Your Child’s Interests at Home | Illinois Early Learning Project Young children love to play. Child-led and open-ended play helps young children develop and learn. Child-led means that the child chooses the activity or the topic and is the leader of the play.
TOMORROW! Come out to play with us!!!
