In times like these, Healthcare Hospitality Houses offer crucial resources and a caring community to help patients and their families through difficult medical situations that can turn their world upside down.

This week, we are raising awareness of all the Healthcare Hospitality Houses across the United States for National Healthcare Hospitality Week.

📚 Family Story Friday, meet the family of Malayah Mae. 📚

Malayah Mae's delivery came unexpectedly at 28 weeks 2lbs 13oz on April 30th, 2024. She was life flighted to OSF Children’s Hospital here in Peoria. We are a family of six, so things get tight at times! Not knowing what to do, at the last minute we were told about the Family House right around the way from the hospital. Our journey at the Family House has been wonderful!! We were welcomed in with loving arms right away. Everyone here definitely makes it feel like a home away from home. Going through hard times, as we know, things can get tough, but the Family House made things a bit easier. My second born has been here the most, with us staying in the house. He's one "crazy little guy." What stood out the most was the staff picking up on his name and making us feel welcomed with loving arms. As we stay in the Family House, Malayah is getting what she needs and growing strong to make it home to complete our family of six. Our family can’t even explain enough how thankful we are to have a place to call home away from home while our baby girl grows strong and gets healthy to come home!💟🍼💜

Look who's got to go home after 355 days, baby Ethan!! His mom, Gina, came to stay at Family House after giving birth to her son in March 2023. He had to stay in the hospital for a while, but then he stayed several months at Family House, so he could receive the care and treatment he needed. Gina was so grateful to be able to stay close to Ethan & not have to travel back and forth.
