Our group of volunteers has recreated railroading in Petoskey as of the summer of 1913 in HO scale.
The trains are also representative of the equipment used in 1913.

Shay Locomotive Built in 1907 by the Lima Locomotive Works of Lima, Ohio, C/N 2005 is a two-truck Shay which ferried countless loads of timber from East Texas forests to sawmills until the 1920s.

is finally here!! This October, we were honored to receive Shay Locomotive C/N 2005 into our collection - a 36 ton artifact built in 1907 by the Lima Locomotive and Machine Works of Ohio. Requiring extensive repairs and renovation, we’re thrilled to embark on this multi-year project, securing the historic locomotive as a permanent display! Today we hope you’ll join us in assuring this critical piece of Harbor Springs history is properly preserved via a donation which will graciously be matched by the team at Meta (parent company of Facebook). Shay train is heading for a final stop in Michigan SFA's Shay locomotive will be refurbished by the Harbor Springs Area Historical Society in Michigan and displayed along with other Shay works.
