Hand2Paw’s 2nd Annual Paws for the Cause Fundraiser, originally planned for this fall, will be rescheduled for next year.

While we’re a bit disappointed about the delay, we’re excited about the possibilities this change brings. A fundraiser in 2025 means we can be sure it is the largest and most exciting fundraiser yet!

Earlier this year we were grateful to receive a grant from Maddie's Fund! Hand2Paw was able to pilot our safety net foster program, provide medical care to our rescue animals and hire one of our alums to support us with animal care! Thank you Maddie's Fund for recognizing our work with rescue animals, young people, and surrender prevention through community support 🧡🐾

We reached our goal! Thank you to everyone in our community who contributed to helping Berry get life-saving surgery! Berry successfully had his molar removed thanks to the folks at & Exotic Philly Vet Medical Surgical Clinic and is doing well 🥰

He’s enjoying all his veggies again and will be healthy and ready for adoption in mid-September! Let’s help Berry - the best and most sweetest guinea pig of ALL TIME - find his forever home where he will live a long and happy life 🐾🧡

Help Berry get through his medical emergency! Our sweet guinea pig Berry needs life-saving surgery for a molar that’s growing out of his jaw. It is causing him a lot of pain and if we don’t take action, pain and infection will make it so he’s not able to eat or survive.

This is why WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW. We’re taking Berry to surgery tomorrow and we need to raise $600 to offset the cost of his medical expenses. His treatment will use a large part of our veterinary budget but it’s worth it to make sure that Berry is safe and healthy!

Our Summer Pawspurr interns visited our partners at yesterday! They got to meet the tiniest kitties, make enrichment toys for cats and socialize with the pups. Thanks to the Morris Animal Refuge team for hosting us! 🐾🧡

We can’t wait to host our community pet pantry and back to school event with and on 8/15!

Our Summer Pawspurr interns helped us unload our first big delivery today and will be leading our pet pantry in August. We’ll have lots of pet food, cat litter and enrichment supplies so come out and grab what you need for your furry friends! 🐾🧡

We were so excited to welcome our Summer Pawspurr interns to Hand2Paw last week! They’re getting to know all of our cutie animals and caring for them each day they are here 😻 Today we started our lunch and learn series and our interns came together to cook a meal together. Welcome to all of our amazing interns! 🐾🧡

Hand2Paw is partnering with to host a back to school and pet pantry block party later this summer and we need your help collecting school supplies for the event! Our Pawspurr interns did a great job yesterday as we moved Chini and Chili, our H2P chinchillas to a new fancy home with three floors and a big hammock to play in!

Our Pawspurr interns got to visit Morris Animal Refuge yesterday! They got a tour of the shelter, met some cutie kitties and dogs and stuffed snuffle mats for the cats. The interns learned about new dog laws in PA, and got an introduction to dog behavior learning about safe practices for interacting with a new dog. Thanks to our partners at Morris Animal Refuge for a great visit!

After the trip, we celebrated our interns’ perfect attendance with a special ramen and sushi lunch 🍜🍲🙌🍱

Connected through our partners at , yesterday our Pawspurr interns had the opportunity to meet with Dr. Thronton, a veterinarian based in Atlanta. Our interns learned about his work, asked deep and interesting questions about animal well-being careers and even got to hear stories about vet care for tigers! Our Spring Pawspurr cohort started at the end of April and is in full swing! Interns are learning to care for H2P animals, met with with our partners at , and completed their first Lunch and Learn yesterday!

Scara got a visitor last week! Scara is a sweet kitty who we have been fostering in our safety net pilot program as his owner navigates some challenges. We are glad to be able to provide a safe space for our safety net pet parents and their family/friends who are connected to these lovable fur babies to visit their pets while we are fostering at Hand2Paw! 😻

Our Unleashing Opportunities interns are in full swing at their externships and today we’re highlighting our interns at the Pennsylvania SPCA ! Our interns are receiving incredible support from the team and after learning about all the different departments, interns chose the department they were most interested in.

Our interns are supporting with surgeries in the shelter hospital, humane education programming, adoptions, and community vet clinics! We are so proud of all their hard work and thankful for the amazing staff at Pennsylvania SPCA for guiding them through this experience. 🧡🐾

Our team had a great day at the Mental Health Resource Fair hosted by the Carver STEP team! We loved sharing our program opportunities with so many amazing young people and seeing our friends in community and 🧡🐾 Thank you for having us!

A huge shoutout to our partners at ! We have fostered bunnies for them over the years and last week they helped us with our bunnies Jerry and Gene.

This summer, our youth helped to rescue Jerry and Gene from after an owner surrender. Over the past 6 months, H2P interns gained valuable experience learning how to care for bunnies and promote them for adoption. Unfortunately we had a hard time finding adopters as our bunnies needed to be neutered. offered their support to help us neuter Jerry and Gene and take them in to find them forever homes! We are grateful for our collaborative partnerships with amazing animal rescues all over the city and look forward to fostering more bunnies with them in the future!🐰🧡🐾
