Via Locusta
February 2018, business partners and husband-and-wife team Michael Schulson and Nina Tinari, partnered with Jeff Michaud to purchase Osteria, where Michaud ran the kitchen from 2007, from URBN and hinted at future joint projects. The first of those projects is now officially on its way to Locust Street. “Via Locusta” will highlight fresh handmade pasta made with locally sourced fresh-milled flour, and the brightest fruits and vegetables from some of Pennsylvania’s outstanding farmers.
Set to be one of the most approachable spots in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood, Michaud will work in the kitchen with Ed Pinello (Executive Chef) where they will offer a smart, focused menu of shareable plates, pastas and a few larger dishes. Additionally, Via Locusta’s cocktail program will complement the from-scratch, local, seasonal, and sustainable tenets of the kitchen. Special Italian-style bread with local grains to be made.
Collaborating again with Home Studios, their design partners on 2018’s show-stopper Giuseppe & Sons, Schulson and Tinari will add yet another exciting dining space to the Philadelphia.
