🚨THIS IS HUGE.🚨 A giant step forward made possible by thousands and thousands of us JOINING TOGETHER and speaking out ✊✊✊

Workers United and Starbucks share a commitment to developing a productive relationship in the best interests of Starbucks partners. During mediation discussions last week over ongoing brand and IP litigation, a constructive path forward emerged on the broader issues of the future of organizing and collective bargaining at Starbucks.

To build on that path, Workers United and Starbucks have agreed to begin discussions on a foundational framework to achieve collective bargaining agreements for represented stores and partners, the resolution of litigation between the union and the company, including brand litigation, and a fair process for workers to organize. As a sign of good faith, Starbucks has agreed to provide workers represented by Workers United with credit card tipping and benefits announced by the company in May of 2022.

While there is plenty of work ahead, coming together to develop this framework is a significant step forward and a clear demonstration of a shared commitment to working collaboratively and with mutual respect.

Thanks to all our allies and customers for their support; the boycott continues!

We’re not stopping anytime soon. Workers deserve a union contract and we need accountability for Starbucks’s actions!

Join us this Thursday, 2/1/24 for a sip in at Penn Medicine Starbucks (3400 Civic Center Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19104). Workers at this location continue to suffer from short staffing and having their hours severely cut, all while being deemed as one of the busiest stores in the mid-Atlantic region. Let’s lend our support with a sip-in: where we order easy drinks (under the name “Union Strong”) and tip them generously!

Partners- ARE YOU SICK OF STARBUCKS NOT GIVING YOU ENOUGH HOURS?

Despite being one of the richest companies in the world, Starbucks is cutting our hours AND making us work short-staffed.

Rina, a 4-year barista, was unjustly fired this Tuesday by a new manager. She’s stood up to manager mistreatment in the past — and we won’t tolerate retaliation against union leaders!!! ✊✊ While we work on challenging Rina’s termination, she needs funds to pay bills and rent this month. Please donate what you can to her venmo! And keep an eye out for further calls to action this week 👁️

BREAKING: LOCAL 80 WINS FIRST CONTRACT AT ELIXR COFFEEE!!!! 🎉🎉

After a marathon final negotiation session lasting over seven hours, the Local 80 Elixr Bargaining Committee settled a tentative agreement with Elixr owner, Evan Inatome, on November 30th, 2023.

Workers at Elixr authorized a strike prior to the negotiation session. Due to this pressure and a willingness from the employer to make significant concessions and collaborate across the table both parties are happy to announce they’ve reached an agreement.

Among the improvements secured in the first contract are pay raises of $1-3 for the lowest earners, increased PTO, yearly cost of living adjustments that exceed inflation, across the board raises for all workers, improved standards in working conditions, elimination of at-will employment for a standard of just cause employment, a $500 ratification bonus, and much more.

Local 80 applauds the hard work and dedication of its Bargaining Committee as well as the willingness of owner Evan Inatome to settle a first contract that will go leaps and bounds in transforming industry standards. The Local 80 Elixr Bargaining Committee is recommending ratification of this tentative agreement, and will host a ratification vote among its members in the next week.

Negotiations are ongoing with ReAnimator Coffee and Ultimo Coffee, and set to begin in late December with Vibrant Coffee, where Local 80 is confident that employers will look to Elixr as a new standard-bearer for a fair contract that improves the lives of its workers.

🚨We won a STRIKE VICTORY after our earlier this month!

Soon, workers will be able to pause mobile orders themselves during busy rushes, like the ones we experience on promotional days.

This announcement was made after over 5,000 Starbucks workers went on strike this month during one of the busiest (and most understaffed) days of the year. DIRECT ACTION GETS THE GOODS. 💪
