Attention Local 2011 members: DC 21 and Painter's Local 2011 are launching the Local 2011 childcare subsidy through the benevolent fund. Now, first and second-year apprentices can qualify for this subsidy, easing the burden of childcare expenses and allowing them to focus on their training and development. We're excited to see how this new initiative can help our members, and we strive to be an innovative organization that takes care of the community and fosters positive change.

Tonight is the 37th annual Philadelphia All Star Labor Classic Scholarship Dinner, presented by the Philadelphia Building Trades, at which we will present more than 60 local high school senior basketball players with $500 college scholarships. We will also be presenting an event-record check in the amount of $207,050 to The Superhero Project- Non Profit Foundation, an amazing non-profit that helps parents of prematurely born infants stay connected to their babies through “Angel Eye Cameras” placed in hospital NICUs. The Trades chose The Superhero Project because our Office Manager Kelly Ross and her husband Ryan Ross are the proud, loving parents of three preemies (pictured below). The 37th Annual All Star Labor Classic is this Sunday, April 14th at Holy Family University. It’s free and fun for all.
