Introducing Mittens!!! Mittens is a 2 year old spayed female Aussie mix who weighs about 60 lbs. Mittens was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter in April with her brothers, Webster and Wallace. Much to everyone's surprise, the next day she delivered 6 puppies! Sadly, 3 of the puppies passed away as obviously this was a less than optimal situation for Mittens to have babies. We're happy to report that the remaining 3 puppies are doing well and Mittens and her pups are ready for their forever homes! Mittens is such a wonderful dog - you can't help but fall in love with her! She has a super cute personality and is extremely affectionate and social! Mittens LOVES people and snuggling and is thankful for any attention she's offered. She's smart and eager to please, walks great on a leash, and seems to be housebroken. Mittens has been great with other dogs and has been an amazing mama to her trio! This girl is ACES and we can't wait to see her thrive with a family of her own! Please help us find Mittens the doting and dedicated forever home she deserves!

Tis the season! Looking for some classic holiday recipes? Why not try Abigail Adams’ Apple Pan Dowdy? Let’s dig in.

Apple Pan Dowdy (or pandowdy? Who you calling dowdy?) is an old-fashioned apple dessert usually sweetened with maple syrup or molasses and topped with a pie pastry. Some say that “dowdy” refers to its plain appearance, others that the dessert is so-called because its top is “dowdied,” or cut up, during or after baking. 😒

The apple dessert was reportedly a favorite of John and Abigail Adams who may have first indulged on the treat while in Philadelphia. The German dish was popular in the Mohawk Valley, between the Adirondack Mountains and Catskill Mountains, as well as in areas of Pennsylvania.

Teaming up on an ambassador project with Tread Lightly we scourged the campsites at Monongahela National Forest finding a dismal portrayal of what we humans leave behind when we’re not careful.

I love Devon Veterinary Hospital. My Xoloinzcuintle is very particular about by whom and how she is touched and everyone at DVH is extremely compassionate about her PTSD from her previous owners. Thank you for always going above and beyond for Zarita DVH! 🐾🐾

DVH: Soft Reopening Plan

We are happy to announce that we will begin our soft reopening plan, 6/21/2021! Come Monday, clients will be permitted to accompany their pet into the hospital for well visits. Any client that wishes to remain curbside is encouraged to do so. At this time, all sick appointments, nurse appointments, surgery drop-offs and medication/food pick-up will remain curbside.

What do I do when I get to the hospital?

When you arrive, please stay in your vehicle and call the front desk, 610-688-5224. If you are scheduled to come with your pet, a nurse will meet you in the parking lot and es**rt you directly into the exam room. If you are scheduled for a curbside appointment, a nurse will es**rt your pet into the hospital. All clients will remain in the exam room for the entire visit, including check-out. This will help decrease traffic in the lobby.

How many people can come in?

2 family members will be allowed in the building with a pet. We encourage clients with more than 2 members or children to remain curbside.

Can I come in to pick up medication?

All medication and food pick-ups will remain curbside at the pick-up window. We will be encouraging pre-payment for these items in order to expedite your check out experience.

Can I come in for end of life appointments?

Yes, of course.

Do I have to wear a mask? Even if I am vaccinated?

Yes, everyone in the hospital will be asked to wear a mask that covers your mouth and nose. If you cannot wear a mask, we will ask you to remain curbside.

In the past year, veterinary service has increased by 60%. This, along with the new protocols continue to increase the workload for our staff. Due to the high demand of veterinary care, curbside care has become extremely efficient. We encourage you to continue to utilize our curbiside service to decrease your wait time and allow us to be efficient in your pet's care. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you remain respectful and patient as we continue to navigate these times.
