Nick's Roast Beef, Cottman Ave.
After 50 years - Nick’s is still NE Philly's favorite all-in-one neighborhood restaurant, sports bar, catering & events spot. The room seats 120+ guests!
Welcome to Nick’s Roast Beef in the Northeast. This restaurant is the second generation and a homecoming for the owner whose father purchased the restaurant in 1985. Nick’s is designed to be a “neighborhood restaurant and sports pub with delicious food.” We continue to serve our original Roast Beef Sandwich along with other signature menu items that have made Nick’s famous. Come to Nick’s for casu
With heavy heart I wanted to make a post to honor one of our customers that we lost this week. Rich Funk was a great man, a great customer, and a great friend to many. Countless days, you could walk in Cottman Avenue and recognize him sitting at the end of the bar, with his cowboy hat on telling stories and cracking jokes. He was a part of our history, and will remain a part of our memories. I am glad he was there until the end, and he will be missed by many. Our condolences go out to all of his friends and family during this hard time. Rest in Peace Rich, hopefully the ginger brandy stocked upstairs for you.
END OF AN ERA: After 53 years, Nick's Roast Beef on Cottman will be closing permanently. Most people know it as the ideal spot for a roast beef sandwich, but for some it was a second home.

Nick's Roast Beef in Northeast Philly Closes After 54 Years After 54 years, the popular Northeast Philly restaurant Nick’s Roast Beef is closing its doors for good. Customers said their goodbyes during a free buffet on Sunday. The owner says all the employees will move to another location in the far Northeast.
Thank you again to all who came yesterday!
'A Lot of Memories': Nick's Roast Beef Closes Northeast Philly Location After 5 Decades It was more of a celebration of the decades of life for Nick's Roast Beef than a funeral for the beloved location in Northeast Philadelphia. "It became like a celebration of life instead of just losing it."

Today we spotlight two of our favorite acoustic acts as we head into the final week here at Nick’s Cottman location
Ricky Haldis has been coming to Nick’s since he was about 5 years old. His mother Sharon is one of our most loyal customers for many years. Ricky first performed at Nick’s when he was about 16 years old. This Wednesday Night, his acoustic duo, Keep The Change, which Ricky joined in 2017, will be doing a special show starting at 7pm!
Mike McCullough, has been playing at Nick’s for many years. Mike will play his final show on Friday from 6-9pm followed by the band Phase 3 starting at 9pm
He has played solo and along with others, most notably his son, who also started performing at a young age. Mike Jr. has gone on to much success as the bass player in the band Jumper.
On Saturday we have our friends in the Road Dogs starting at 8pm!
And on Sunday, our final farewell starting at 4pm. It will be an emotional week for us all. But let’s do it together! Cheers!
On Sunday, March 5th, Nick’s Roast Beef at 2210 Cottman Avenue will shut its doors forever. Unfortunately, we were unable to reach a lease agreement with our landlord. The silver lining in all of this is that each and every staff member at our Cottman Avenue location has a position waiting for him or her at our Woodhaven Road location. Further, any loyalty rewards you’ve accumulated at Cottman Avenue will still be eligible for redemption at Woodhaven Road.
As our way of saying “thank you” to our loyal customers and an even bigger “thank you” to our dedicated staff, we are hosting one final event and we hope you will join us.
Beginning at 4:00 pm, we will offer a complimentary buffet, followed by a champagne toast at 6:00PM. I hope to see you there - or at Woodhaven soon!
Cheers,
Matt Rossi, Proprietor
