Hello, beautiful people. It seems like I only come here to notify you of changes anymore but that will be different in the future. For now, I come to you with an announcement. As we know, you can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs. Unless you use the ones from a carton which is kind of a no-no.
Anyhow, the owners of the building are renovating the entire interior and some of the exterior. Obviously, Greg's Kitchen cannot operate while this goes on but there is a bright side: Greg's Kitchen will be expanding. The restaurant will nearly double in size and the kitchen will be larger too.
During the demolition and construction phase, we will be out of commission, which is sad for all of us. But we're looking to the future. We hope to be back up and running by late fall. We will keep you updated during the process.
Our last day of cooking for your lovely, hungry faces will be Sunday June 2nd. After that, we'll be clearing out for them to start.
So come see us before we close and we are very excited for the big and positive changes to come. Thank you, as always, for your support and love. We appreciate you all.
See you all soon!
Hey all, we're looking to add to our Greg's family with an immediate dishwashing position open. Weekends are a priority, since you all know how busy we can get.
If you're looking for something part time, or know someone who is, send them our way!
Holiday hours. We wish you all a happy holiday season.
Greg’s Kitchen is 10 years old today! When reflecting on the last decade, I’m overwhelmed with a lot of different thoughts. Obviously, it’s been a weird couple of years. If you scroll back in GK’s feed the last 3 or 4 years, you can certainly revisit it all.
I won’t relive it here but suffice it to say we certainly wouldn’t be what we are today and absolutely wouldn’t still be here without the support of Manayunk and the fine people that come in week after week.
And big thanks to all that have helped me grow it to what it is today. Family, friends and employees over the years. Hopefully we’re around for a while longer.
Thank you all!
Good morning, and happy Thanksgiving! We will be closed today and we hope, however you spend today, you’re safe, healthy and well-fed.
We will see you tomorrow! Be well
Honored to be included. The Smokey Sammy is almost 10 years old! He just started cursing casually and we don’t know how to handle it!

We are back to whatever normal was!!! Phone, internet and the handsome cook are ready to boogie!
See you soon!
So we’re gonna open tomorrow, Thursday, despite not being back to normal. We’re gonna make it work.
No phone yet so takeout orders just be placed in person. Hoping to get back to normal soon but for now, we are ready to serve your smiling faces in whatever way we can.
Come see us!
Hello again. An update to the previous post:
Verizon needs to replace two exterior boxes tomorrow morning and then run new line to our building.
We will be CLOSED until this is completed. Hopefully it will be done by 11 or 12 but I’ve hoped before and it hasn’t always worked out.
We will update you the moment we are ready to go. Sorry for the inconvenience. Out of our hands.
See you soon, hopefully.
Good morning, fine folk.
Fios is once again out. Phone is out and no internet.
Trying to get it back on. We will update you as soon as it’s back on.
Thanks for your patience.
Hey, beautiful and patient people!
Starting tomorrow, July 18th, we are back open on Tuesdays! It’s been a while.
More news to come soon! Stay tuned.
Power is back on(for now…) so let’s boogie.
Sorry for any inconvenience!
Hey all, “good” morning.
Seems GK has a power outage along with a few more addresses on the street. Apparently, PECO is working on restoring power and the estimated time for that is 9:10am. We shall see. I’ll keep you all updated.
Enjoy your morning.
Stroll the Street starts tomorrow. Should be a lovely evening for it.
If you’re strolling by Canal View Park, my quite talented brother will be playing some tunes from 6-8pm. Say hello and tell him Greg sent ya.
Hey all! Today is the Manayunk StrEat festival. Food trucks will line the street filling the air with delicious smells and smiling faces. Main Street is closed from Green Lane to Shurs.
We’ll be here for most of the day but we will be closing a bit early. Last seating at 130, closing at 2.
Enjoy your day and we hope to see you!
Hello, friends!
We will be closed today for Easter. Enjoy your day regardless of how you celebrate and we’ll be back to see you soon!
Ayyyyyy! Go birds.
But also, no, we still have no Fios and won’t until tomorrow at the earliest. So no phones or internet. We can still accept payments and cook food though! They can’t take that away from us.
Come see us. We’re here. Sorry for the inconvenience but it’s out of our hands.
Yay
Hey all.
Still no internet or phone. Any orders must be in person.
We’ll keep you updated and hopefully this is resolved by the end of today.
See you soon?
Hey all. Our Fios(tv, phone and internet) has been out since around 11am. We are trying to get Verizon out to fix it asap but you know how that goes.
Sorry to anyone that has tried to call since then. It’s made for a fun day.
We’ll be in touch as soon as it is resolved, hopefully by open tomorrow.
Hey all
We hope you all have a safe, healthy and happy holiday season. Stay warm out there. See you soon!
As I reflect on the last 9 years, I’ve a lot to be thankful for. Thinking about where GK was last year and all the endless issues that compounded an unimaginable hardship, it’s hard to wrap my head around it all and how we’ve been able to get back to doing what we love. When thinking about this, and wondering how, the answer comes quickly and is actually pretty simple and obvious.
Love and support from a very large group of wonderful people.
To name everyone that has helped build GK, aided in its success through the good times, the CoViD times, the closed-for-business times, and the entire rebuilding phase, would be very difficult.
The love and support came from everywhere. I’ll never be able to thank you all enough and certainly this post doesn’t suffice, but hopefully if you’re reading this, you’ll know that you’re part of the reason we still get to serve you today.
So here’s to 9 years of being able to do that. They haven’t all been easy and quite frankly, even under ideal circumstances, it’s a pretty tough business, but it’s made a little easier knowing you all have our back.
Forever grateful. See you soon.
Restaurant night at the Flyers game. A good win. Good times.
Good morning! Long time…
Today, most of Main Street will be closed due to the Marathon going on and come through Manayunk. It isn’t set to open back up until around 2pm. Please plan accordingly if you’re coming to visit us for dine-in or takeout or visiting any other lovey establishment on Main Street, for that matter.
Also, we will be closed Thursday for Thanksgiving. But we’ll post again soon.
Have a great Sunday!
Sorry folks! A totally different unforeseen circumstance is causing us to limit our service to takeout only today. We should be back to normal tomorrow!
Good morning all. Unfortunately we will need to be CLOSED today, Friday 9/23 due to circumstances outside our control.
We will be back up and running bright and early Saturday morning.
Happy Friday! See you tomorrow!
Due to circumatances beyond our control, we will need to be closed on Wednesday, 9/21.
We hope to see you bright and early on Thursday morning.
Thank you for understanding.
Dishwashing job. Triple sink. Fun atomosphere. Free shift meal.
Hey y’all.
Let’s boogie…
Opening tomorrow, Friday the 24th.
See you soon!
Hey friends. Long time no post.
As you already know, since it’s been pointed out by some terribly astute folks on Facebook, we aren’t quite open yet.
I’ll fill you in on the situation and update you now. This has been a very long and drawn out process, much to our collective chagrin.
Cleanup was completed within a month. After that, the process of lining up contractors to do the work, acquiring permits for said repairs, and having the repairs completed and ready to go all took many months due to many different factors.
None of those factors were controlled by Greg’s Kitchen and, in hindsight, if I knew it would take this long, other arrangements and decisions would have been made. The initial forecasted timeline was 4-6 weeks(hold for awkward laughter).
This has not been an easy 7 months and I appreciate you all asking about reopening. The GOOD news is repairs are completed and the work is just awaiting an inspection and then PECO can turn the power back on. After that, it will take time to get product back in there and prep food for your lovely and patient faces. The BAD news is there still isn’t an official date of inspection. It should happen soon, but I’m thinking the word “soon” should be tattooed on my forehead at this point for people to know what my mantra has been for the last 7 months.
If you’re still reading this, and congrats if you are, I appreciate your patience and look forward to being your little breakfast spot once again.
