Crimes like this are heartbreaking, but the news article mentioned that this was not the first robbery this poor woman was subjected to at the store. This statement raises a red flag. 🚩
If there were prior robberies at the store, it puts the store owner or the shopping center on notice that there’s a security issue. The responsible thing to do for the owners is to the put measures in place like surveillance video, security personnel, increase the number of employees in the store, better lighting, or other measures that can increase the safety of its employees.
There is no reason to put profits over the safety of people. Employees and store patrons deserve to be safe. Companies who ignore the red flags need to be held accountable.
