Neighbors Investing in Childs Elementary

We did it! On Friday, February 10th we celebrated the ribbon cutting for the G.W. Childs rooftop playspace.
This ended up being a seven-year project, which was more than we expected. But it was all worth it when we saw the students burst out onto that rooftop, literally somersaulting down the hills with uninhibited energy and joy.
There are more people to contributed to this project over the past seven years than we can possibly thank in one post, but we want to say a special thanks to key organizations and elected officials:

Fund for the School District of Philadelphia
The Hess Foundation
The McLean Contributionship

We also know there were so many more people who made this happen: people who can be best described as NICE neighbors. If you volunteered at an event, put money in the jar at an election day bake sale, gave feedback at a design charrette, or donated an item from your small business…you made this happen too. Thank you for believing this crazy dream was possible and investing in the children of our neighborhood.
