UCTA would like to congratulate Abigail Veidmark and Lucan Grunden for receiving the 2023 scholarship awards from the Arizona Chapter!

Abigail is entering her second year Mississippi College in Clinton, MS majoring in General Biology with a focus on pre-Physician Assistant with a 3.94 GPA. In her free time she is part of the school marching, symphonic, and jazz bands, as well as being part of the school’s archery team.

Lucas Grunden is a recent graduate of Paradise Valley High School with a 4.33 GPA. In addition to volunteering, in his free time he has been a 4-year letter-winner in both track and cross country, competing at the state championships both his junior and senior year. He recently left Arizona to attend Concordia University in Irvine, California this fall, where he has committed to run indoor and outdoor track, as well as cross country.

Despite the blistering Arizona heat, recently held our inaugural Top Golf Scholarship fundraising event, bringing together 50 industry professionals for a great (and hot!) afternoon of networking and golf.

We plan to award two highly deserving recipients with the funds we raised to help them further pursue their education and their dreams.

We are already looking forward to our next on September 27th at Legacy Golf Club with a presentation by Eric Forberg, P.E. (City Engineer, City of Phoenix) discussing the City of Phoenix's GO Bond Drainage Projects and the Storm Drain Asset Management Program
