Juneteenth, officially Juneteenth National Independence Day, is a federal holiday in the United States. It is celebrated annually on June 19 to commemorate the ending of slavery in the United States.
The holiday's name is a portmanteau of the words "June" and "nineteenth", as it was on June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordon Granger ordered the final enforcement of the Emancipation Proclamation in Texas at the end of the American Civil War.
Although this date commemorates enslaved people learning of their freedom under the Emancipation Proclamation, this only applied to former Confederate states.

The playground, located in the heart of the park, offers a wide variety of play development through swinging, sliding, spinning, social spaces and sensory play.
I don’t know what the percentages are, but I am followed by a large group of mothers who have children with brachial plexus disabilities ((erbs palsy)
and we are all human beings out here living life, addiction is not secluded to any one type of person. It is important to me to represent an accurate depiction of what it’s like to live with this disability, what it’s like to struggle with addiction because of having to deal with bullies because I am disabled , and so many other various factors.
I count my lucky stars every single day that I get to connect with these mothers who get to learn and understand and be better for their children, including choosing their own sobriety. 🖤

infantilization = dehumanization
Treating a full grown adult as a baby is a product of ableism, deeply rooted in a subconscious belief that the adult isn't capable of being an adult.
This morning I met with an app developer to partner with accessibility on their social app. I'll share details as this progresses so that events have listings of accessible options at locations.
