Leslie is a true team player and always willing to go above and beyond to help out his team and community. He is passionate about helping those who are in need and it shows through his commitment and compassion here at the Village. 🥰🐶🐱

Did you know the month of July is National Pet Hydration Month? A huge thank you to who donated bags of ice for our Villagers! 🧊🐶☀️

We have some great news, *almost all of our Heidi’s Village dogs have been adopted! 🥳🎉
Sasha and Basil however, are STILL looking for their forever homes. is to get Basil and Sasha adopted! (Not to be adopted together)
Basil is a 7.5 year old senior German Shepherd mix who loves cuddles and playing ball 🎾
Sasha is a 4.5 year old German Shepherd mix who was born with her hind legs out straight and that does not slow her down one bit 🏃‍♀️
These two both prefer to be the only love of your life and are not too keen on sharing with other furry friends.

Francis, our resident FeLV advocate, wants to talk to you about
Francis came into the shelter after being found running with a feral colony, we think that’s where he came in contact with FeLV. Francis was too cool for that outside life and is now searching for a home of his own. 😎 🏠
Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine provides some great information of what FeLV is and what is expected when adopting a FeLV positive cat (referenced on the first slide).

It is important to protect yourself and your animals from the heat this summer ☀️

We want everyone (and every paw) to have a safe 4th of July! While it is a fun day for some, it could be a day filled with anxiety and fear for our pets at home 🐶🥺
July 5th is one of the highest intake dates for shelters across the country! Here are some helpful tips that will make their experience with fireworks just a little bit easier.
The most important thing you can do for your pet is keep them safe and secure INSIDE your home. 🏠 If your pet does get lost or you’ve found a stray, we’ve got the resources on who to contact!

The month of May is for National Chip Your Pet Month! 🐶🐾
According to the American Humane Association, 1 out of 3 family pets will get lost or stolen. Microchipping is the best form of identification to return your pet to you.

Collars are a great way to have visual contact information that’s easy to find, the downside to collars is those can get lost or removed. Microchipping is the permanent solution to ensure your information is always with your pet!

This great detective followed a case a little too closely and landed himself at Heidi’s Village as a stray. We estimate he is a senior at just over 7 years old and a German Shepherd mix. Basil’s age is no match for his charm, whit, and endless energy!
