Liberty Wildlife is happy to announce that we have been selected as a recipient of the Buffalo Exchange Tokens for Bags® program from July through December 2024. You can now donate to Liberty Wildlife just by shopping at Buffalo Exchange (Phoenix Midtown).
Instead of a plastic bag, the Tokens for Bags® program offers every customer who makes a purchase one “token” valued at five cents (the cost to produce a bag) to donate to one of several local charities selected by the store.
The program has generated over $962,840 for hundreds of local nonprofit organizations since 1994 and has saved over 19.25 million plastic bags from the landfill.

If you find a baby bird (or other animal) on the ground and it's not injured, attempt to return it to the nest and step back to observe it the parents return to care for it.
(If the whole nest fell down, if you have a small basket you can attempt to secure it back in the tree and observe)

Did you find a hawk in your backyard this weekend? You are not alone!
Watch this clip from FOX 10 Phoenix this morning to learn more about what to do if you find wildlife needing assistance
Hotline from 8am-8:30pm 480-998-5550
Please allow 10-30 minutes for our team to call you back! They are BUSY!!
Speaking of, we need volunteers in many different departments so go online to submit an application for our next orientation!
Record number of hawks taken in amid hot temps The hot weather in Arizona is not only impacting people, as officials with Liberty Wildlife say they took in a record number of hawks over the weekend as a result of the heat. FOX 10's Desiree Fluellen has more.
Today was the busiest day of the season so far . over 100 animals have been brought to Liberty Wildlife's hospital for help.
More than 15% of those were these white poof-balls!! Cooper's hawk nestlins are big enough right now that they are feeling cramped in their nests and the high temperatures just give them an extra boost to jump out for a cooler location.
Most of them land well and parents can keep an eye on them until they are fully flighted...
But many of the ones that have come to us aren't feeling great. Being bird- eaters, they tend to come down with a highly contagious Avian disease called trichomoniasis.
They can be treated and cured at Liberty.
If you find these birds on the ground, call our Hotline between 8am and 830pm daily to get suggestions about what should be done in each case

This great blue heron was spotted at the Lakeside Suites at Ocotillo in Chandler.
It currently is healthy and strong enough to fly so we cannot send rescue out for it but we want people to be aware of this bird and help us keep tabs on it.
If it gets to a point where it is weak enough to not fly, please call our hotline so we can get a rescuer out. Do not attempt to rescue this on your own at herons' beaks are very dangerous.
Our hotline is 480-998-5550 and you can press 1 for an animal emergency and then press 2 for an uncontained animal needing help. Then you can leave a message for our team to respond.
Thank you!
The American kestrel who arrived last week via a Barnes & Noble Starbucks cup is recouperating well. Despite some damage to the right wing, this little chick still has a great appetite.
Foster mom "Maggie" the great horned owl has raised quite a gorgeous group of orphans so far this season.
