Casa de Cristo Church and Apostolic Center
The Mission of Casa de Cristo is Building Bridges To Christ our Lord and Savior Whosoever Means You!
We invite you to worship with us, to study God’s word with us and to join us on our Christian path of service.
Baptism at Casa de Cristo
Baptism is a sacred rite taken to demonstrate commitment and dedication to the teachings in the scriptures and a life redeemed through faith. At Casa de Cristo we baptize in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. This is a practice set apart in prayer to honor our relationship with Christ and the Kingdom of God. If you have newly accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior and want to participate in the rite of baptism to further express your commitment, or if you are seeking a visible way to rededicate your life to Christ, let us know by completing the request for Baptism form. Baptisms at Casa are not monthly events so dates and locations will be shared when a service is scheduled. All baptisms are held in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area.

”For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive in the Spirit. After being made alive, he went and made proclamation to the imprisoned spirits— to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.“

When I Call on Jesus
When I call on Jesus I call in an earnest effort to get His attention at that given moment. When I say out loud ‘Lord give me strength just one more day’, I mean just that. Either I'm tired or I've had just about enough. I pray to the Lord for strength through the journey one more day. When I make it through today I know I will have strength to face tomorrow.
When I call on Jesus my heart takes a leap as my faith affirms what my soul knows. All I have to do is earnestly say His name and it show be done. No matter the situation or the circumstance, Jesus will be there when I call His name.
When I earnestly call on Jesus, I call His name with my whole heart expecting and accepting the blessing about to be poured out on me. I call His name with respect for the power behind the name. I call His name deliberately with willful intent and confidence that He hears my every call.
Each day in every way I will earnestly call on Jesus as I seek His face.💜
Psalms 145:18 NIV
The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
Focus
This year’s journey through Lent has been very interesting. Now that I am truly retired it would seem like I have more time on my hands to do nothing. However, having been raised as a do something with your time person, doing nothing is not in my vocabulary. In my quest to do something with my time and talent I try to focus on what will be productive, on what will enhance my journey through the next half of my years and on what would be pleasing to God.
My major in college was Communication Arts with a focus on Public Relations BUT my heart belonged to the theatre. Thanks to the Jesuits I gained a very sound and intense understanding of theology. My parents gave me a deeper focus on the Bible and understanding the nature of God.
With my eyes fixed on Jesus my focus is on God, family and fun. With my focus on God I am blessed to preach the gospel in a way that makes it plain. When I focus on my family I understand the need to have time with ALL of them. I have been known to suddenly appear in their lives because I realize I miss them - even if it's a long Mommy phone call.
Because I’m not like any preacher you have ever met, my involvement with theatre seems counterintuitive to my focus on the nature of God. When I establish my boundaries my focus is clear. When I welcome and connect with all of God’s people my intent to love my neighbor is clear. When others see my focus on the nature of God they become curious about THAT church I‘m connected with.
Knowing how to live in the world and not be of the world requires focus and intent. I cannot base my focus on what others think of how I travel my journey. To remain focused I start each day with prayer that the Divine will guide me through each moment as God gets the glory. I end each day thanking God for the victory and for each blessing. Remaining focused empowers me to seek God’s face everyday in every way. 💜
Hebrews 12:2 NIV
fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Although you are watching from a distance the blessing of this service is for you also.
Teachable Moments
The universe has certain ways to remind me that I am never too old to have teachable moments. I spent years making sweet potatoes in a specific way. During the holidays my son asked me for my recipe because he wanted to make a dish for his Friends potluck gathering. Later that week I had him make the dish for our family gathering because I was confident he knew how.
As we were in my little kitchen cooking side by side I received a teachable moment. He changed one step and the dish was ready faster and tasted great. A chef was born because he made it his own and I am now armed with a new recipe to try.
God gives me teachable moments to move me away from stagnant old theories into the 21st century. A tight fi**ed grasp on old patterns can only lead to a lack of true vision. In order to obtain level ground I must be open minded to new and exciting teachable moments.
God is constantly teaching me how I can follow His plan in an ever changing world. When I open my eyes to see the glimpses of truth God has for me I see people through God's eyes. I see a way to get over the mountain of frustration to the level of plains of trusting in God. God's Spirit leads me and His favor will never forsake me in my teachable moments.
This is what I need. 🙏🏿
Psalms 143:10 NIV
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God; may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.

Live in Peace
What does it take to live a life of peace? Can I watch the world news faithfully at the beginning of my day and find enough peace to get me through the troubles of the day? When I lose focus on the good news of Jesus Christ as my daily starter my day finds ways to go horribly, horribly wrong.
What does it take to live a life of peace? Can I allow the hateful words or actions of others harm my mental well being so much that I lash out with hurtful words of my own? While hanging on a cross, dying for my sins, Jesus forgave the thief that spoke hateful words to Him. Surely I can forgive the verbal abuse of someone who knows not what they are doing.
What does it take to live a life of peace? Can I constantly and consistently step out of the anointing for situations that I think are just too irritating to bear? When I seek peace by listening to the sound of angels whispering in my ear even the constant noise of dripping water becomes bearable.
Is the desire to live a life of peace creating a utopian fantasy or a plausible reality? Paul starts this verse with “If it is possible”. I believe it is possible to be in a relationship with someone and never speak harsh or angry words to the person I love. I believe it is possible to walk away from any given situation that makes me feel tempted to slap the love of Jesus back into someone who desperately needs it.
What does it take to live a life of peace? Keeping my focus on God. Listening to God’s voice when He speaks to me. Letting go of the instant rage while I hold on to God’s perfect love. Being willing to decide if I want to be happy or do I want to be right. When I choose peace, I choose to be happy. 💟
Romans 12:18 NIV
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
