STLP is excited to announce its official partnership with Slippery Rock University’s Honors College to enhance pediatric health awareness in the Slippery Rock region! Through this collaboration, our STLP team will join forces with the SRU Honors College students to organize community events and fundraisers aimed at making a positive impact on the local community. We extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Jennifer Willford, Director of the SRU Honors College, for her dedication in facilitating this partnership over the past few months. We eagerly anticipate working together on this important initiative!

As our second year of operation comes to an end, the Spread the Love Projects Team wants to thank each and every one of our supporters. Whether you purchased a piece of merchandise, liked a social media post, or donated to us, you helped us work toward a brighter future. This year consisted of a multitude of hardships and we would not be in this position without the devotion of our team members and donors.

In the coming year, we plan to utilize the CARE Project to impact struggling families and continue to make a difference. We have so many incredible projects planned and cannot wait to show you our devotion to changing lives!

Meet Colton, a spirited 9-year-old living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Despite the challenges of limited movement, eating, and speech, Colton remains bright and cheerful, enjoying books and video games like other kids his age. His family is dedicated to providing the best care possible and is working to adapt their home for his needs. Your support can make a difference in Colton’s life. Last week, Spread the Love Projects had the privilege of visiting the Universal Academy of Pittsburgh (UAP) as part of our CARE (Children’s Access to Resources and Equality) Project initiative. Our focus was to provide essential supplies to underserved children and spread vital information on health and wellness.

Alisha Virk, BSN, RN— STLP’s Community Health Educator— conducted an informative hygiene discussion tailored specifically for the female students, covering basic health principles and a conversation regarding female reproductive health. Simultaneously, our Treasurer, Zayaan Tirmizi, led a parallel session for the male students, addressing general health, hygiene, and reproductive health.

STLP remains steadfast in its commitment to making a tangible impact within our community. With your continued support and dedication, we will continue to contribute to “changing the world one project at a time”.

Spread the Love Projects will be attending the annual UPMC Walk For Children’s event as a top team. This is a community wide charity event held in support of the patients and families at UPMC Children’s Hospital. Anyone can sign up, walk the event, and donate! Additionally, all proceeds go to UPMC Children’s Hospital.

We have raised 600 meals!

We are incredibly thankful for our donors. With your help, we have raised 600 meals to to pediatric patients and their families at UPMC Children’s Hospital! In addition, we have now allocated more than $20,000 to the children’s hospital in lifetime disbursements!

This past month, our founder donated to build a well in Sindh, Pakistan. With this donation, community members were provided a supply of clean water to accommodate for their most basic needs.

This past week, Spread the Love Projects volunteered at the Saint Kilian Fellowship Hall for a Fellowship Dinner sponsored by James Nelson. Our members distributed food to those in need and enjoyed giving back to the community.

The Saint Kilian Church holds a Fellowship Dinner each week where they provide meals for anyone who would like to attend. These dinners are provided by the generosity of volunteers, parishioners and friends.

During this time of profound sorrow, the entire Spread the Love Projects Team stands with the grieving families and friends of Rustic Ridge, as well as the broader Plum community, following the devastating explosion that occurred on Saturday, August 12th. The resounding blast brought complete destruction to three homes, inflicted extensive damage on numerous others, and tragically claimed the lives of five individuals, including a father and his son.

In the face of this heart-wrenching tragedy, we extend our heartfelt condolences and urge you to join us in solidarity. Spread the Love Projects remains steadfastly committed to offering unwavering support to the families affected by this unimaginable catastrophe. Let us unite in compassion and strength, providing solace to those in need as we navigate through these challenging times.

The Spread the Love Projects team is working with the Renton Fire Department to ensure the proper allocation of these funds.
