We’re looking for proposals for hands-on artistic experiences! Handmade Arcade’s annual Holiday Market comes alive through Hands-On Handmade Arcade (HOHA), a pop-up craft-lab environment featuring hands-on making, live artistic demonstrations, and interactive experiences hosted by community partners, artists, and creatives from around the region. We're seeking proposals from artists and organizations with creative ideas to help our audiences embrace and explore their creativity during the Holiday Market on December 6-7 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh. Application acceptances and decisions will be made on a rolling basis. We recommend applying as soon as possible. This unique opportunity gives youth artists a free booth (plus lots of additional training & perks) to sell their handmade products at our 2024 Holiday Market on December 6-7 at the David L. We're looking for Guest Jurors for the 2024 Holiday Market! Are you active in the artist and maker industry? We want your expertise on our team! You'll receive a $300 stipend plus two free tickets to attend our Holiday Market Friday Night Happy Hour on December 6.

For those applying to be a maker at the 2024 Holiday Market, you can still apply to be a juror! You'll be asked to disclose conflicts of interest on the juror application.

Jurors should be knowledgeable about the craft industry as well as committed to ensuring that Handmade Arcade markets are reflective of Pittsburgh’s diverse community. Jurors should agree with Handmade Arcade’s core values of anti-racism, collaboration, equity, financial sustainability, and transparency.

Handmade Arcade is committed to maintaining a group of Guest Jurors that is reflective of our region’s diverse make-up of makers, customers, and collaborators. Candidates with disabilities, candidates who are BIPOC, and/or candidates who are members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community are encouraged to apply.

Join us in welcoming Kelsey Ford as Handmade Arcade's new Executive Director! An experienced arts administrator and project manager, Kelsey has worked in artistic programming, marketing, fundraising, and event planning for several Pittsburgh arts and culture nonprofits, including the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Pittsburgh Youth Chorus, City of Asylum, and Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

Kelsey has a long-time connection with Handmade Arcade. She served as a member of the Board of Directors from 2018-2021. She also participated as a maker in the 2022 and 2023 Holiday Markets before deciding to hang up her Handmade Arcade maker hat and apply for the position of Executive Director.

A NOTE FROM KELSEY: "I fell in love with Handmade Arcade in 2016 when I attended the Holiday Market for the first time, connecting with so many talented and innovative artists and makers as a shopper. Since then, I've stayed involved in the organization in various capacities because I'm so deeply passionate about the way Handmade Arcade serves and empowers makers and entrepreneurs of all ages and all experience levels year-round, not just at the Holiday Market. This is a really special organization, and I'm honored to lead its next chapter alongside the Board of Directors."

Alongside the Board of Directors, Kelsey will lead the continued implementation of our multi-year strategic plan. Stay tuned for an invite to our 2024 Community Town Hall where we'll share an update on our strategic plan progress.
