๐Ÿ”™ Throwback Thursday: The Legacy of POISE Foundation ๐Ÿ”™

In 1957, a visionary named Mr. Bernard H. Jones, a recent Knoxville College graduate, set out to make a difference in Pittsburghโ€™s Hill District. As the Community Services Director for the Friendly Service Bureau, Mr. Jones understood the challenges facing young men in the neighborhood. He founded Explorer Scout Post #48 to provide them with a positive developmental and social alternative.

His mission? To instill pride, a strong work ethic, and an entrepreneurial spirit in these young men. Through his dedication, the seeds were planted for several influential Black community organizations that continue to uplift and empower our community today.
