Last evening members completed the 4th and final night of Aerial Apparatus Operations. During this course members learned skills, techniques, and best practices for safe and effective aerial operations. Continuous training is essential in the volunteer service. Thank you to the members for their dedication to furthering their education. Thank you to Berkeley Hills Fire Company and Adams Area Fire District James - Jimmy - Ellis Firehouse Station 42 for letting our members use and practice with your apparatus as well!
Truck 249 is just returning from assisting Avalon Borough with a 2 alarm residential house fire. Crews were alert around 5am for reports of a house fully involved starting to catch both exposures houses. 249 truck arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and assisted with fire suppression of the main fire building and protection of the exposures. All homeowners were accounted for.
First due house fire ‼️
Engine 249 was initially alerted for a brush fire around 2:55 pm that was quickly upgraded while en route to a house fire for reports of smoke and fire spreading to the residence about 3 minutes later. Engine 249 arrived first behind the chief and stretched the initial line into the house making a quick knock on the fire that spread to the interior. The fire was held to only one townhouse in the row. Thank you to our mutual aid fire companies and Ross West View EMSA for supporting the rehab of the firefighters working. No injuries were reported by the residents or firefighters on the scene.

Looking for way a donate to your local volunteer fire department? Emergencies, training, and other fire department function don’t stop just because of warmer weather. We take the health of our firefighters very seriously and that beginning with staying hydrated. We are always looking for donations of water to keep our firefighters safe and in best condition to serve our community.
We send our deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters at Berkeley Hills Fire Company. Also sending prayers to the friends and family of Jeffery Eversmann.
It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of life member Jeffery Eversmann, but let's be honest not many people knew you as anything other than "Uncle Squelch". Squelch was one of the most friendly people you would have ever met and devoted his life to his family, Berkeley Hills, and Hospitality. We will all miss you Uncle Squelch, we hope you're enjoying your time driving that Grumman again! ❤️
If you knew Squelch you know he did not care to have his picture taken. Drop your pictures of Uncle Squelch down below!
There are no funeral arrangements, however there will be a celebration of life later this year.
The bay doors are open, the sun is shining! Perfect time to stop up for a firehouse tour and maybe even fill out an application! Bring those kiddos up, we would love to show them around!
We are always looking for new members, firefighters and even administrative members! We will always find a place for you here!

Headed for our area later this afternoon and evening!!
This week we honor those you are not always seen but always heard. The men and women of Allegheny County 911 work tirelessly to keep all our of responders and residents safe. They sacrifice time away from their friends and family and work countless hours to ensure the public is always taken care of. Without them would not be able to do what we do! Thank you from the officers and members of Quaill VFD!
We are all probably sick of the rain by now but unfortunately we have some more bad weather heading for our area in the next couple of days. Use caution when you’re out and about.
