Our flag does not fly because the wind moves it. It flies with the last breath of each soldier who died protecting it.
Happy 4th of July!
Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale.
Hans Christian Andersen
No doubt Iceland is a horse lovers fairy tale land. I've been working on finishing up some images so I share some of the best things I feel about the Country. As certainly I highly recommend a visit.
The Proofs are up from last night Monday Night Jackpots at Hookstown Fairgrounds!
Although I really loved Iceland, it was so good to be back around my barrel racing friends (although I can't chit-chat much while working in the arena), and watching some turn-n-burn action!
As always, half of all purchases go back to the cause of getting new roofs on the horse barns!
Please note these proofs will be left up for one month, after that time, the gallery will be removed and you will not be able to order images after that time. To unarchive any gallery it will be a $35 fee to re-upload to make a purchase.

Who is gonna buy a ton of these stamps? 🙋♀️🙋♀️🙋♀️
New postage stamps!
How unique is this Icelandic girl? Instead of a dark horse with a white blaze, she was white with a brown blaze.
We were lucky enough to see a large horse drive during our extra week stay in Iceland
Happy Monday!
I'm not sure that is a very true statement for me this Monday, as after a 2 week vacation it is going to be hard to get in the swing of things again.
One thing about Iceland, is there is no shortage of horses. Our hubbys were probably quite over my friend and I continuously yelling "stop" the car when we'd see the perfect shot along the highway!
As I had mentioned a few weeks ago, my Uncle Joe was the one who owned horses in my family when I was a kid. I'd always be near the horses or riding the horses when we would go to his house for a cookout or the holidays.
No doubt I was probably told NOT to climb the fence. :)
Happy Silhouette Saturday!
Not many chances to get much color in the sky here in Iceland, due to the fact that while we were here, sunset is around midnight, and sunrise is around 3 am. So the skies are either blue with clouds or overcast with clouds.
To illustrate just how close to the hearts of the Icelander's horses are, each horse is given its own unique kennitala (national insurance or social security number) and Icelanders often use apps to keep track of their steed.
Happy Foal Friday!
The very first members of the Icelandic Horse arrived aboard the Viking ships of Norse settlers sometime between 860 and 935 AD. Although sources don't agree on the breed's exact ancestry, interestingly enough, many of its characteristics can be related to the mere circumstances of this transportation.
Some claim that the animals were chosen because of their short but sturdy stature, which made them ideal for overseas travelling. When you think about it, it is much easier to transport larger animals across the roaring ocean if they keep their footing and take up less space on the boat.
I haven't quite determined which color I love the most of the Icelandic Horse. Which do you like?

It's always interesting to me how as humans we are so attracted to water. As my husband are out here with thousands of tourists in Iceland, marveling at all the beautiful waterfalls, oceans, lakes, etc. here in Iceland, at home my son was doing a float down the river back in Ohio.
Icelandic horses exhibit a diverse range of coat colors, reflecting the genetic diversity and variety within the breed. Their coats can be bay, black, chestnut, dun, or palomino, with various shades and patterns. This variety is due to the presence of multiple genetic markers that influence the production of pigments, such as E, A, and W genes. The most common colors you’ll find include black, chestnut, and bay, but Icelandic horses can display over 40 colors and up to 100 variations, making them one of the most colorful horse breeds globally. Interestingly, the rarest color found in Icelandic horses is the color-changing roan, which shows different colors in summer and winter coats. So, their vibrant coat hues add to their charm and uniqueness! 🐴🌈
I am still here in Iceland enjoying all the wonderful sights! I would certainly encourage you to come here for a visit if you ever have the chance. For me, Pittsburgh has non stop flights. There are so many Youtube videos with tips and tricks about your visit too. I certainly think if we ever visit again, I'd rent a camper van, to just continue sightseeing around the whole island.
There were so many beautiful Icelandic Horses that I would have loved to bring home, but this guy... his menacing look, had me at his first neigh. He had that skeleton painted look... just loved him!!!
If you know me at all, I love Halloween. In fact, my non-profit's (Dreaming of Three) annual benefit is a Halloween themed barrel race/pole bending show. Mainly because I needed something to raise funds once things changed here on Facebook with folks seeing my posts. I had so much Halloween decor, I thought it would be fun to have a costume grand entry/contest and barrel race. It's called A Bucking Nightmare and we have it every year at Garwood Arena in Columbia Ohio all to raise funds for our Rodeo Kids Program and Scholarship Program.
Guess who turns one today???
My little girl, Willow! I baked her a little cake, and we had a little party before I left for Iceland!
She has been such a joy to have in my barn. She always wants to be with us, and at times seems as though she wants to sit on my lap! I love her so much!
I'm not sure if you all are tired of seeing horses, lupines and waterfalls, but I have a lot to share that's for sure!
Happy Saturday! It's been an amazing week here so far in Iceland! Such beautiful scenery that I have never seen before in person. It's also my first time truly out of the country. First time in Europe. I was certainly nervous at first, but this week has made me have the desire to explore more in other countries no doubt! Well as long as there are horses to photograph anyway!
Happy Foal Friday!
The Icelandic Horse foals are sooo fuzzy, just love them!
Today was quite the rainy day here in Iceland, but that didn't stop us from enjoying its beauty.
Skogafoss
Foss is the Icelandic word for “waterfall.” It is a noun and is used to describe a single waterfall. Iceland is home to some of the most famous waterfalls in the world, such as Gullfoss and Seljalandsfoss, and understanding this term is essential for anyone exploring the country’s natural wonders.
Something I LOVE doing for my clients is grabbing some sort of yummy treat when I deliver any products from their session. It may be Crumbl cookies, or Nothing Bundt Cakes, or something special from a local bakery. It all depends on where my travels take me right before delivering. It's always so fun to see their faces when they are surprised with something delicious to eat as they see their beautiful images printed and in physical form.
Nurturing client relationships is what I feel is key to long-term success in business. It's not just about acquiring new clients, but also about retaining and deepening relationships with existing ones. When you invest time and effort into nurturing your client base, you not only foster loyalty but also potentially open doors to new opportunities through referrals and additional business.
Consistent communication, personalized attention, and exceeding expectations are some of the ways I want to nurture my client relationships. By understanding their needs, preferences, and challenges, you can tailor your approach to better serve them and demonstrate your commitment to their success.
Remember, building strong client relationships is an ongoing process that requires dedication and genuine care. It's not just about the transactional aspect of business but about creating value and fostering trust over time.
My service does not end when your session is over. I have several surprises throughout the year for each and every one!
It has been an amazing trip here in Iceland! The food is amazing at Skalakot. Each day something I have perhaps had before in my lifetime, but not presented as they do here.
Tonight we had Pork Cheek, never had that before. It was so good, but I thought it tasted more like beef than pork for some reason. I'm not sure I've ever even seen that on a menu in the Burgh!
There are about 80,000 Icelandic horses in Iceland
Monday's canyon shoot was spectacular!!! It felt like we were right in the scene from a movie or tv series like Game of Throns.
Starting from Season 2, Game of Thrones was filmed in Iceland for scenes that took place North of the Wall. The stunning natural beauty of Iceland provided the perfect backdrop for the epic fantasy series.
One more........ Have a great night everybody.
A horse of another color in the Lupines.
I feel that each photo that I've edited so far needs their own post. So they can be savored. :) So each day's shoots, I will post several a day.
