The Surgery Center at Plano Dermatology

We are seeking energetic and motivated Mohs Surgery Medical Assistants with strong team skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Position Summary: Mohs Surgery Medical Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting physicians with patient care.

Essential Functions Summary: Taking vital signs, obtaining patient history, assisting with Mohs and other surgery procedures. Other responsibilities include patient education on treatment plans and medication, patient phone calls, nursing procedures such as suture removal and dressing changes, and completion of pathology and lab documents.

To apply for this position, you should have prior Mohs / dermatology experience.

Position requirements / duties:
- Ability to work as a team member
- Advanced skills in data entry and EMR programs
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic understanding of skin anatomy
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Basic skills in administration of local anesthesia
- Willingness to understand regulations for HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA
- Well-organized with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Empathy with patient concerns and ability to anticipate patient needs
