Adi's Clothes & Shoe Drive - Eagle Project

Wanted to provide our donors, volunteers, and supporters an update on the effect of our project.

Most of the clothes have gone directly towards the Sai Seva Trust orphanage in Warangal, Telangana.

Many of the other donations have gone towards flood relief in Bhadrachalam, Telangana.

Attached are pictures of Spandana Foundation's work on the ground.

Yesterday, our hardworking group of volunteers sorted and packed all our donations of clothes and shoes, and with that, we have officially completed the project! Thank you for all your donations and support!

By the numbers, we collected ~100 boxes of clothes and shoes, meaning over 5000+ DONATIONS! This isn't including the other clothes we slated for donations locally. This project could definitely be considered a success!

However, we do still need funds to acquire some new socks for the kids at the orphanage, as we haven't reached our goal for them yet. Please donate to us here: https://www.paypal.me/lankipalle (list the memo as "eagle project").

My name is Adi Lankipalle, and I am part of our local Boy Scout Troop 998. As part of my culminating Eagle Project, I am organizing a used clothes and shoe drive. The proceeds will go to an orphanage in India. This drive will take place two weeks from now, on Saturday, May 1st, from 12 - 4 PM. More information will be sent out soon.

For now, please clean out your closets for old (gently used) clothes and shoes. Note that we accept all sizes of clothes and shoes. Also, please consider donating money to our efforts, in order to buy new socks for the orphanage and cover costs for materials in the projects. We need $340 to cover all of our costs.

Here's a quick rundown of my project:

We need $340 for my Clothes Drive Eagle Project. Our budget includes provision for materials, supplies, tools, and other miscellaneous expenses. Please consider donating to our Eagle Project so we can provide as many clothes as possible for the kids at our orphanage.

Check out my goals for this Eagle Project: 360 shirts and pants, as well as 120 socks. These will be donated to us by donors like you during the drive. We will also need ~$350 to run the project and purchase NEW pairs of socks, which anyone can donate towards.

My project is to collect clothing in a drive for underprivileged kids in India. I worked with an orphanage (beneficiary) in India that is in need of clothes. Witnessing the poverty in India spoke deeply to me, and I am determined to make a difference.
