Project Sister Family Services (PSFS) is the foremost agency dedicated to providing services to the women, children, and men survivors of sexual assault and abuse and their families in the East San Gabriel and Inland Valleys in Southern California, a region with a population of over 2.3 million persons. Project Sister Family Services works with local law enforcement, district attorneys, courts, hospital and health care providers, schools, churches and other community groups and agencies.

Project Sister Family Services provides programming to more than 50 times the number of survivors as in 1972. Today, we serve survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking and child abuse. It’s Transgender Awareness Week! A time to help raise the visibility of transgender people, and educate the public about the community and address the issues members of the community face. 🏳️⚧️

Back when our service area only covered the eastern area, from Monrovia to Chino. A time where PSFS received no more than 75 calls annually and had about 22 volunteers. Now, we are fully staffed with therapists, a prevention department, a hotline department and over 40 advocates. So much has changed over the last 50 years but one thing remains the same, is we are still dedicated to reducing the risk and trauma of sexual violence.
The issue of domestic violence persists well beyond this month. We must continue to have these conversations. Continue to share resources. Support programs that support survivors. We need to continue the work, in creating a culture that is safe for everyone.

Throughout the month of October, we will be sharing information, resources, and supporting our community partners who work on domestic violence issues while raising awareness.
