This week has been incredibly hard for Port Orange Professional Firefighters Association.

A local agency we work side by side with has lost one of their own and this has affected everyone greatly. Also, as many have seen the tragic loss of a local 4th grader in which our crews responded to.

South Daytona Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3193 we are absolutely devastated to hear the news of your loss and want you to know we are ALL here for you.

Our Community has shown an amazing amount of support towards us and we want you to know it is much appreciated during this time.

Member spotlight: Serving since 2021 currently assigned to 71 A Fireman Tyler Simmons has shown us dedication, pride, and ownership. With emphasis on fitness, Tyler exceeds expectations. He is a Triathlete, has completed OBT, and continually trains. He helps with our new hire academy, training greener employees, and is a lead paramedic. Fireman Simmons was chosen to be POFR’s 2023 FF of the year.
In his words β€œ The best part of fire service is the ever so different days, in which no two are the same. and experiencing each call with a crew in which you hold bonds and experiences with that person for your whole career

Being a POFR firemen is extremely special to me, because I was born and raised in the city and all of my family is here in which I call home”.
